After I heated my milk to 180 and cooled it to 110 and added my starter (some plain organic yogurt), I used 4 mason jars, a picnic cooler and some towels to ferment my milk into yogurt. Then I put the jars in the fridge. I used things I already had at home and it turned out just fine without an expensive gadget and I didn't have a million jars to wash. ^_^
