@shahidaly1 No doubt. And I do believe in trying to objectify even the subjectivity of music. And I'm not blind in my approach to the subject matter. There are lata asha duets where I do think AshaJi sounds stronger and smoother such as Chhap Tilak. Just in this particular song, I thought LataJi's voice or at least the part she was given to sing were stronger at the higher notes.

@gandhic541 lataji's greatest strengh was her vocal perfection and only that. you will surely concede that this recording was made when the rot had set in lataji's throat. ashaji has had her vocal vivacity and sparkle to fall back on. lataji 's start in this song is with a taan which is bordering on the off key. but please remember that this film also has one of lata's all time great solo renditions 'yeh raat khush naseeb hai' . it gives me goose pimples every time i hear it
