  • wow!! impressive, very impressive, youtube is cool to see people progress thier playing abilities over time. Time is on your side young man. I look forward to seeing you in the future.

  • @Pyrealrat Nice comment mate, but I'd like to know if your, "impressive, very impressive" quote was from Darth Vader in Empire Strikes Back when Luke has some new Jedi chops?

  • @chrispy3210 No it wasnt, I was very impressed with a young man lighting the fretboard on fire with some great shredding

  • ill give him 7 not bad

  • Dang kid :)

  • I love how i saw on one of his really early vids someone was like your shit and someone replied he's probably miles better by now,and surprise, you are :P nice one

  • :O! You could be the next Jason Becker!

  • it IS somewhat sloppy but this is a very difficult song to pull off, definatly better than mine (so far). I would of also liked it better if you had played last notes for real ( try using harmonics to play the last part, which is what I do instead of using pickup so there is no pause ) but if you prefer ur way thats cool, looking foward to more

  • is everyone fuckind def. this is sloppy and shouldve been practiced way more before posting. maybe as a progress vid. but damn if u guys think this rocks. then u must think brittany spears is metal as fuck

  • @xxPSYCHOSLUTxx ARE YOU A RETARTD, dude, this guy rocks. now YOU can go back 2 listenin 2 ur Brittany spears crap while i listen to this again......BUT WITH MUCH HIGHER VOLUME \m/

  • genial genial genial me gustaria tener esos dedos

  • coooool!!!! like daniel san

  • troppi errori....................troppi! studiatelo meglio e il bending è più alto..................... too many too many mistakes! Study him better and the bending is higher.

  • Ehhh. It was very good, but you're best bet is to start off playing it really slowly, working on the accuracy and playing exactly in time, and gradually work up speed rather than teaching yourself to play fast straight away and, essentially, teaching yourself to play wrong notes. You are very good though. Keep it up.

  • *applause

  • *applause

  • Wow - truely awesome. I've been trying to learn this properly for ages and am not even 5% as proficient as you!

  • dude you gotta start writing originals dude play your own style i really wanna see you play your own music

  • sloppy as an elderly prostitute's snatch

  • Good try my friend. It's a great solo piece isn't it! For anyone who wants to learn how to play it note for note, I have developed a series of 12 free instructional videos detailing note for note how to play the piece. Fun piece to play and instantly recognizable. Just go to the lessons playlist on my YouTube page and look for all the crossroads lessons. Regards to all :) Dave Whitney

  • 2 Dad.. U done a fantastic job at teaching your son. now STOP making him play covers & make up HIS own stuff. U WON'T get anywhere as a "copy cat" . it is about time for the singing lessons EH.? U know I am correct. just think about what you would have done different if U COULD only change time.do YOUR son the best thing he will EVER need. his OWN STYLE. plus 2 be able 2 sing & play @ the same time... it IS YOUR son. KEEP him on the SAME ROAD..? OR.? your call Dad. not mine...!!

  • I'd say you could have a successful band with stuff you write yourself.

    We have another Satriani here.

  • nice job, you were a little off on the dim7 drop but its really hard to pull off, this is really fun to play and great for practice, and if yer having truble with the whammy bend, use the pickup, its great for hittin' high notes keep on playing, dont give up

  • Thumbs up if you like the shirt. :3

  • cool I just watched you for the first time doing freebird at 12> Nice to see you're keeping up with the ax. I see also you have developed great taste with the steve vai. I hope you're paying homage to Frank Z.

  • Nice

  • you start playng guitar with what age? D:

  • Gosh... Congratulations from brazil XD

  • if me and u played u would make me sound like crap ahahahaha

  • You done very good and it was the shit im ognna have to say haha

  • This is insane! You're really good.

    BTW, love the Gibson. :)

  • wow! da kid good!!!! i play a 5-string bass !

  • your a young but that was sloppy. a bit work on it and itll be amazing

  • You are freaking amazing. To be able to play a Steve Vai song is incredible. Please keep making videos & ignore the idiots who have no clue what a true guitar player you are.

  • nice shirt tye die woodstock

  • okay it was good but really if your gna try a youtube video you shoulda practiced a bit more :( i thought it was good but no where near perfect, just sounded under-rehearsed :(

  • A bit sloppy but i can't do that so what can i say?

  • awesome playing, not perfect, but impressive, the last note wasn't near high enough, several frets above that, but still on a scale from 1 to 10 on a profession basis, I'd give you an 8.5...and I'd give myself about a 2, (I have perfect pitch so my fingers haven't caught up to my ears) lol, well done, very well done, I'm impressed, I'd be asking you to show me how

  • @skingfan68

For the last note, Vai uses his actual pickup as a fret to go much much higher than any amount of frets any guitar has. That's why I played the last note an octave lower. That way, it sounded smooth rather than just stopping on the 2nd or 3rd to last note leaving your ears in a very uncomfortable place waiting for notes that will never come. I think it sounded much better that way.

  • @dave8386 e..... no he use violin and i heard somwhere that he had to use a 32 frets guitar but anyways great solo still need a bit of work but don't give up you're almost there !!!

  • @dave8386 my guitar has 27 frets... do ya think thats enough? xP

  • @Akenatsu94 TWENTY SEVEN FRETS =O i think that would be too much for me, i can barely fit my finger in the 20th fret of my sg

  • @PeGaiarsa hehe :P

  • @dave8386

Use a metal pick (or a jazz III) and fret the string with that, swap hands and pick with the fretting hand.

Needs a whammy to play properly.

Otherwise nice playing. Impressive speed, with accuracy trade-off within acceptable parameters. 10% slower and you would have had no accuracy issues, I am thinking.

  • sounds like when steve vais losing haha

  • your good, there is no doubt about that... i haven't been playing guitar 4 that long and i not that good but you need to have more feeling specaily when you play more bluesy songs

  • you came a long way since 12 dude lol!! as far as putting more feeling into your notes, I am sure that will come with more time, you will be a virtuoso once you hit 18, provided that you don't give up, kick ass dude!

  • dude your a good player and everything, but like seriously from what i've seen of your videos you gotta put more of your own feeling into it. no hate comments dudes just some advice. i mean what ever like i'm just trying to help the dude out.

  • nice job!

  • hey where you the guy playing soldier front the other day?

Just lose the Tye Dye shirt. :P JK

  • You are amazing(: I have been playing (teaching myself) for almost 2 years and I am not even close to being that good. I play the exact music you do. Im also 15. Basically, you inspire me. :D -francesmarie.

  • Thanks for the kind words =)

  • like to see some more songs just to name a few: mr crowley, comfortably numb (slower but more powerful), stairway to heaven maybe?

  • comfortably numb is the biggest piece of shit song.. Actually pink floyd is the biggest piece of shit band. He won't be playing it. He already knows stairway

  • crazy awsome little man hope to see you in concert some day haha

  • wtf spider fingers lol that was friging awesome matt

  • As a musician i compliment your talent and skills, but maybe fast and furious is not always the best way to show guitar skills haha. Even though a fun challenge would be Bark at the moon by Ozzy. Randy Rhoads was truly a great guitar player back in the day.

  • Great Matt, I loved it!

    Ray

  • WOW! This kid is freakin' awesome :) Must have a fabulous mom...

  • hey dude i was wondering if i can request something =P

  • No problem, what would you like to request?

  • "for the love of god" by steve via

  • Probably a good choice. I'll look into it. I haven't actually heard it all the way through yet so maybe there are some good solos in there. Thanks =)

  • Top marks for your skills. I don't always think that really hard to play, fast stuff necesarily sounds better. I personally prefer bluesey solos that are played slower (which you would be more than capable of). Nether the less 5* for your talent.

  • SKILLS!

  • Nice

  • nice
