This is an early documentation of Ace's problems that would result in him finally being so inebriated he suffered major memory loss. He couldn't even remember how to play his own leads on the "Final Tour" and had to re-taught by Tommy Thayer! Pretty sad. He had a melodic flair if not great technical ability, and it has all been lost.

The thing about KISS is Paul and Gene are the serious ambitious ones, and Peter and Ace just want to have fun!! I love that Pete and Ace are so into the rock n' roll lifestyle, but at the same time, I gotta feel sorry for Gene and Paul to have to be the responsible ones, carrying all the weight in the band. But I think that oil and water mixture that was A&P vs. G&P made KISS, in the 70s, so fuckin' great!
