I went platinum blonde, bright red, then black...I did red to black for the same reason as you.....the maintenance....I really want a change now but NOTHING will colour my hair now, even home strippers and bleach just turn it orange!!!! So yeah.....badtimes!

When you used the Feria, did you dampen your hair prior to dying, as I dye my hair frequentley, usually applying to dry hair, but I used this and the dye was all dripping down my face!

I want to use the colour again because it was great but dont want all the mess!

Actually, if you're dying your hair black for the first time, go to your hair stylist and ask about demi-permanent hair dye. I have been dying my hair black for more than a year now using demi-permanant, and the hair dye gradually washes itself out over a course of four to five months. This way, if you don't like it, or if you want to go back to your natural hair color, you won't have to do the stripping to go back to your natural color :)

you're gorgeous you have an excellent face bone structure and this is why any colour will look good on you and any hairstyle. and of course your amazing eye colour helps a lot too. now if you allow me one advice. your eyebrows kind of ruin the natural look. the shape of your eyebrow is too unatural too thin in the end too thick closer to the nose. eyebrows are the most important part of someone's face.

You are very right. My hair was red and I loved it but maintaining it was like every two weeks and it was starting to kill it, and my hair is very strong. Plus it started to get expensive even though the dyes where I live are only $5 to $6 dollars. With black hair life is so easy I retouch it every month and the roots are barely seen. Tho now the fad is all about having crazy colors, I get bored of seeing it black all the time.

If you use a color remover on your black hair, a orange tone will come through and a red haircolor will stick! so if you wanted to go red again and make it stay this would be the way to go!

@JuliaRusan - if you're applying black hair dye, it will go over any color. You don't need to bleach your hair unless you are trying to go lighter than your hair color normally.
