Me pregunto que carajo saben de musica los idiotas que dieron voto negativo a este tema por Dios que pateticos que son...!!! PINK FLOYD FOR EVER THE BEST....!!!!
The sadness and peacefullness of the song make it most fitting song ,,, that with the passing of Rick ,,, will be the last Pink Floyd song ever made ,,, and it will go on forever
That man can play more by playing nothing at all than most guitarists can play in 1000 notes. This solo goes right into my soul and turns it inside out....unbelievable.
David Gilmour is a huge inspiration for my playing."Comfortaby numb" and "Shine on.." are my personal favorites solos. His flawless technique and his soulful licks are unique. Everyone these days can play fast guitar licks but only a few can touch your soul. The right note at the right time.Pure genius.
Some days ago I wrote a song named "Likvidator(the warning)" where the solo is mainly influenced by the way he plays. In some way is my humble tribute to the master(you can listen it on my channel)
I was a union stage hand thoughout highschool and college and I can testify that he has the best sounding concert ever put on stage. There is no studio mix sound like the modern day turds...all the techno rips of today and lip synching is such a joke. Crosby Stills and Nash, Greatful Dead...only other groups of 90's-2000 that can compare. They sounded the same on stage as they did in studio with no help. There is nobody in the top 100 of Rock or pop today that can hold their jock strap.
Socrates, Platon, Aristotle and Heraklitos of Music, or else David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Nick Mason and Richard Wright, the Philosophers of Music. And upon them, God Apollon giving them the inspiration!
@sonofgungog What, in the name of around the world Musicians you are talking about? Man do you have any idea for whome people are you talking about? You compare the Philosophers of Rock, the people who play Music, (with the whole meaning of word), with a small piece of shit, that even his mother will not remember him in some years, Bieber? Man, have you any idea of music? Have you ever played, listened or feel music? Do you know what is music? What kind of people exist in this world....
YOU PEOPLE ARE SOO TOTALLY LOST, NOT ME ! David gilmour is a fool who thinks too much of himself. This song is a blaspheme to music in its entirety.
You people havent grown enough to get over this kind of music and start appreciating legends like JUSTIN BIEBER. And dont you think i am kidding. He really is the only person worth being called a music GOD.
@sonofgungog Haha, you certainly succeeded in your attempt to piss people off. Everyone got different taste and Bieber is another world and dimension in music, so just leave it be. People like Justin Bieber and people like David Gilmour and Pink Floyd and that's perfectly fine. The good thing about music like this is that you don't have to continously serial rape your radio to pieces by repeating the song over and over 'cause people will actually like the song after a few times. Cheers!
Guitarist cant be ranked by their speed. and u need to watch gilmour to see wht matters..best guitarist ever..his hand floats on the strings..i wish i cud watch him live.
David Gilmour is much more that a guitar player. He is a singer, composer as well as an innovator. There is more to playing guitar that being able to shred a zillion notes per second. When he plays, it is pure emotion that his fingers are playing. Many of todays shred artists have also learned that feeling is a major part of playing, and if that means playing SLOW, then so be it. There is no single best guitarist in the world or style that is best. If the music makes you feel good, then it is.
This song is actually so depressing, listen to it but think about roger waters and syd barrett and flyd in the 70s and before they were famous and still young its basically the conclusion to the band.
@everyone Alright. Whatever you people say, i wont be convinced. Because everytime someone puts this kind of music, i doze off within seconds. I dont see any kind of energy in this guy as much as any of other rapper has. After all, music is meant to cheer you up. This kinda music is nowhere near cheering me up.
Moreover, if one listens to the lyrics of the rock songs, most of them would be depressing to the core. Who wants that??HUH?
@sonofgungog@sonofgungog you are ABSOLUTELY lost !!! and very simply do not understand the concept of REAL music, and a dumb ass for bringing up rap which IS NOT music, why are you EVEN on this video anyway with remarks like that. wake up swine!
rap and pop are indeed taking over rock music.. the reason why 1960-90's music became popular might be due the advances in recording technologies... there might be good music before then but we dont have good record of them.. rock (60's to 90's) was influenced by psychedelic drugs and the music which came is quite unique
anyway speaking of 21st century .. can so called rap lovers suggest me which album could be the best musical piece , so that i can know whether i am listening to shit or not
@farban All i want to say is pop and rap are taking over rock. And definitely people of the future generations would appreciate rap/pop/hip hop as great music. They wouldnt like the music that came 5 decades ago, just as you dont listen to the music of 1920's.
Still if u think this shit is great music, definitely you people do not belong to the 21st century
@sonofgungog you want to bet that pink floyd will be heard in 50years time and jay z beyonce bieber gaga or whatever is pop now will disappear? did i say 50 years.. thay will all be gone in 5...
pop and rap taking over rock. have you ben drinking?? you really believe that bieber will last longer than led zeppelin, pink floyd, deep purple, the who, ramones..i'm writing this and the solo just began.. the solo is my answer, forget the above, just listen to the masterpiece..
OK.They use autotune. So what? Is that a problem when it sounds gud anyway?
And u say rock has always been over pop?Seriously man,r u even aware of what's happened over the last 20 years?Right from the mid 90's it has been only pop all the way.Unlike rock,Pop and rap appeals to almost 80% of the world.U may say,i m judging music by figures. But then, how the hell do u judge music. When 1000 people say rock is great and a gazillon people say pop is THE music, what do u think is true?
@sonofgungog What evidence have you got to back that up apart from making up random figures and using childish words such as "gazillion." Rock is not dying. If you think it is then answer me this: Why have ACDC just played to sold out audiences all over the world? Why have U2 played to Sold out audiences all over the world? I would like to see these "Pop" artists you mention play to over 3 million like Rod Stewart and INXS and Rolling stones did on separate occaisions, as well as many more!
@sonofgungog It's about the quality of those 1000 people compared to the gazillion. Good things, are always underrated, because there are not enough Great people to vote for them....
This doesnt have anything to do with the media. Right from when i was born, i have never been influenced by rock, even though my dad and many of my friends were into it. Most of us today are into rap or pop because its the music of today. It is the music attracts this generation. But, as always there are a hand full of people still stuck in the past, braging about the "glorious" rock era. Its like being in the 21st century and asking for a 12th century suit.
@everyone- y the hell is this gilmour guy so much praised? rock n roll is dead. Pompous men with long hair showing off their instrumental skills is not the music of today because people have understood that music is not about instruments. its all about singing. anyone can learn guitar, but only few have the ability to sing. Rock could never catch up with rap or pop.
The reason you think that is because you're just ignorant and the massive media has influenced you to the point of not having a personal opinion, you see it´s not about a music genre fight, it´s just about appreciating art, this is art it´s beautifull music that causes emotions, that is made with emotions, everyone can learn how to sing as well as to play guitar, but not everyone can do it from the heart, i´d like to see any american idol or Justin Beaver compose a song like this
@sonofgungog anyone can learn to sing aswell. and in pretty much every song of today's music, they use auto tune. sometimes veryobvious, like with kanye west, but sometimes for subtile, so that it sounds "perfect" without anyone hearing autotune. rock is no where near dead. Music has never been about showing off instrumental skills and its not all about the singing. singers would be nowhere without intruments. and no, not anyone can learn to play guitar well. rock has always been above rap n pop
@sonofgungog Why is gilmour praised? because he has produced songs which are considered beautiful and for good reason have stayed timeless and are still played today. He is a great role model as he gives to charity. He has written many songs which have hit number one and have broken various music records.
Last time i heard rock and roll is still alive
Music is not about instruments? if people understood that then we would just have singing over silence
Great song! Definitely the best ever produced by Pink Floyd after the Waters era. This version and its grand finale give me the chills!!! Great concert too!
The ending guitar sequence is pure genius. Gilmour is one of the greatest musicians in history he stirs the emotions better than anyone and as ever you don't listen to Gilmours music you experience it.

@sonofgungog

The ending guitar sequence is pure genius. Gilmour is one of the greatest musicians in history he stirs the emotions better than anyone and as ever you don't listen to Gilmours music you experience it.

What scale is he using? I can't figure it out. I don't think it's just the normal pentatonic or major scale.
