David Gilmour is a huge inspiration for my playing."Comfortaby numb" and "Shine on.." are my personal favorites solos. His flawless technique and his soulful licks are unique. Everyone these days can play fast guitar licks but only a few can touch your soul.The right note at the right time.Pure genius.

Some days ago I wrote a song named "Likvidator(the warning)" where the solo is mainly influenced by the way he plays.In some way is my humble tribute to the master(you can listen it on my channel)

I was a union stage hand thoughout highschool and college and I can testify that he has the best sounding concert ever put on stage. There is no studio mix sound like the modern day turds...all the techno rips of today and lip synching is such a joke. Crosby Stills and Nash, Greatful Dead...only other groups of 90's-2000 that can compare. They sounded the same on stage as they did in studio with no help. There is nobody in the top 100 of Rock or pop today that can hold their jock strap.

David Gilmour is much more that a guitar player. He is a singer, composer as well as an innovator. There is more to playing guitar that being able to shred a zillion notes per second. When he plays, it is pure emotion that his fingers are playing. Many of todays shred artists have also learned that feeling is a major part of playing, and if that means playing SLOW, then so be it. There is no single best guitarist in the world or style that is best. If the music makes you feel good, then it is.

rap and pop are indeed taking over rock music.. the reason why 1960-90's music became popular might be due the advances in recording technologies... there might be good music before then but we dont have good record of them.. rock (60's to 90's) was influenced by psychedelic drugs and the music which came is quite unique

Music has never been about showing off instrumental skills and its not all about the singing. singers would be nowhere without intruments. and no, not anyone can learn to play guitar well. rock has always been above rap n pop
