I'm a new subscriber. Glad I found your videos. They are all great!!! Thanks for all the hard work. This is especially a great cover of "Tumblin Dice" (even without Mick). I've searched your web site looking for the other guitar part on this over.Is it available as a video or even just a seperate audio track? Is on any or your lesson DVD's? Thanks.. Keep the videos coming...
Next to Keith Richards, you are the best lead/rhythm guitarist I have ever heard, and in my 64 years I have heard most! I am an intermediate level guitarist. I keep a stratocaster tuned to Open G and a telecaster tuned to Open E, and both within each reach. I love playing in Open G and Open E. Keep up the excellent work!
Thanks for posting this, your videos are so great. I was wondering if you could post a video of the "lead guitar" part for Tumbling Dices. That would be grand to see the fill parts and the solo. cheers
i love this cover and it is great well done. i am trying to learn it personally, can play the rhythm and some riffs but havin trouble with some parts can i get the tab if you have?
Sir, you absolutely ROCK!! I wish you knew just how much your videos have helped me. One of these days I'll upload a video of my own and send it your way. Just to show my appreciation. Thank you!
i only recently started listening to this band much at all - interesting how they sort of blend the rhythm and lead guitar parts so well, sometimes blurring the line between the two
Thanks for sharing. I put a link of this videon on my blog which is called eyeballbrain-its about trying to stay cool in the suburbs as a dad. I hope you like it, and perhaps will subscribe to it!
@Campbell88guitar - I added a touch of chorus. Most of the Stones' sound is a slightly over-driven guitar. Absolutely amazing tone from them without fail. I've rarely heard bad tone from any of them although I much prefer Keith's tone to Ron Wood's somewhat generic tone.
Nice stuff again. Without stating that I am even 1/4 as adept as you are, I know that playing rock guitar is much more than knowing the tuning and the chords. It's technique. Because I play by ear, for me it is a lot of trial and error, but eventually, it pays off in dividends and enjoyment. This would go to elliotnichols1's question as well.
One thing you've totally nailed that I've never seen anyone else capture is Kieth's unique comping technique (in both this and the Honkey Tonk Women choruses). I can't figure it out for the life of me! Could you explain a little bit on how it's done please?
@elliotnichols1 - I really wouldn't know how to put it into words. I pick all this stuff by ear; I've had no training of any kind. Both of the hands are constantly working and there's A LOT of muting going on by both hands.
Great to see you're back up Sam. Don't know what happened but I won't hesitate to save of my favs. On the subject, wasn't there a lesson on Tumbling Dice?
@zulujosp - I've never done a lesson for this song. There are only a few parts and can be picked up very easily by watching. The guitar is in open G tuning with a capo on the fourth fret.
Sam,Your Pretty Damn Good & I Think I Seen Once Where You Don't Take Request but Sam You Have to Do Red House from Jimi.Sam You Would be One of the Few that Would Lay it Down Like Jimi & Not Add or Take Away Anything. If You Don't Want to I Understand.I've Picked up Alot of Your Song's & Most People Would Have to be Playing Awhile to Follow.I Got It Sam,Keepin Comin.Thank's Again.Billy Ray.

i like your stones video, so thank you. i like to play like keith with open g , open d, i am not a great guitarist but i learn and like you say, this songs are so fun to play. i have a question for you, what is the best tele bridge pickup for sounding ( twangy ) like you and keith, is it the 52 RI, the texas special or the nocasters? i know that the most important is the player and the amp but i want to buy a tele for playing keith songs ( and jess ed davis 's to ) so what pickups is the best?
@titi64230 - I won't recommend; there is no 'best' or there would only be one pickup manufactured. I will only tell you that I prefer Lindy Fralin pickups.
A little off topic, but, what happened to 'Midnight Rambler? I liked that one. At first I saw it was bumped by Betty Paige, but now they're both gone. ps, never got exposed to Betty 'till my later years, but I agree, she's hot.
@kolbpilot - When I uploaded it, it was approved by UMG and had advertising. The claim and advertsing have been removed. That could be trouble. I removed it. I still haven't received any copyright warnings.
I'm looking all arround for tabs or anything about the Ronnie Woods guitars.
¿Do you think you could help me on that? I've been just invited to play on a Stones Tribute, I'm a great guitarrist, but don't have the time to get all by ear as my life is pretty busy at the moment...
@HendrixSpirit - You're a self-proclaimed great guitarist? A "great" guitarist would not proclaim themselves as being great or require tabs. Do you get the impression I have a lot of time on my hands? We're all busy, man...
