I don't like how they excluded the well-known fact that the Bearskins, or Berserkers went through a ritual of eating fly agaric mushrooms to reach this battle-rage.
There is always an argument of Germans being vikings. Most people say no, as the Vikings were a sea-bound group of people coming from the coastlines. However, a thousand years ago, there was no border between Denmark and Germany . So its anyone's guess. Did Vikings move south from the Danish coast and settle in what would be known as Germany ? Or did they move inland from Germany to the coast? I think most would say "no", however. To be a Viking meant to take to the sea. It was not 'ethnic'
it was a boarderline. the danes made a long wall on narrowest point in denmark today. they feared a frankish invasion. the frankish executed 4000 saxons in todays germany. many historians means that this started the viking age. what I mean is that this caused shock waves in scandinavia. they feared a christian invasion. they couldnt compete with the franks at land so they began attacking christian targets such as monastries. overpopulation was also a factor(warmer climate in scandinavia)
@CallmeKettwig No, they are their own people... descended from Germanic people, or Goths. The Vikings are Scandinavian. There are some minor similarities in the cultures and language (pronounciation of letters) but the two are totally separate, each with different language and religious beliefs.
