8 days a week is mainly a McCartney song with Lennons contribution only small something like a few verses. A day in the life is pratically a Lennon song and the best parts of it are lennons work and to be fair the song exists because Lennon wrote it.
@theplans I think you're wrong. Both Lennon and McCartney said that "Eight Days a Week" was co-written. The idea for the title came from Paul. And John is the lead vocalist.
What you said about "A Day in the Life" is right. It was mainly John's song. Paul's contribution was the middle section.
all songs from the time when the Beatles where a homogenous band, I like all those songs, which I can't say about Lennon's songs from Revolver onwards, where I like only a minority
The only really outstanding Lennon song after 1966 for me is Revolution (#1, not #9 of course, which is the greatest piece of sh*t ever published by the Beatles), then I like Good Morning too. There are some average songs like Come together and some others.
Most of the songs on your list Lennon had or would have categorized as throw away songs.
I agree: John didn t like some of these songs, but I think it was more a psychological than artistic opinion. Sometimes, he regretted simple and happy times. In any case, perhaps his best songs wasnt optimistic. He was a genius of sad and dark feelings.
I like very much almost all Lennon s songs post 1966. Not only classic All you need is love, Strawberry Fields, Across the universe or Don t let me down; Yer blues; Hey bulldog, Sexie Sadie, Because, Glass onion, Happiness is a warm gun, I m so tired, songs on Abbey Road B side, etc. too.
Hola, MasterFixxxxer ¿Faltaron muchos temas optimistas de John Lennon? Prácticamente, no he encontrado ningún otro. No fue su característica principal. Contame, por favor, a cuáles te referís. Saludos.
Hola Heyonion!!! Te felicito por tu video. Son muy buenas elecciones y el tema es realmente muy original. Creo que no sólo son las más optimistas sino que además son casi las únicas.

It seems that John was happier in early times... Wich of John`s songs post-Revolver do you prefer?

I forgot to say that the high valued A Day in the Life is a song on which both John and Paul have contributed, so it don't counts as a Lennon song.
