So i finished winding my secondary and the coil is all set up. i tested the primary to make sure it worked before i put the secondary on. Everything works, but when i put up the secondary nothing happens. I can hear the spark gap going, everything works perfect but the secondary. Do you have any clue what i am doing wrong or is my secondary messed up. I got the wire from Essex.
@SeanTuckerBrett Got pics or video of your setup you can put on flickr or flickr or something? Are you quenching the gap? What kind of NST are you using? 9/30? 15/30? 15/60?

About a foot from the bottom the wire snapped, so i just started winding again. There not connected in any way the the wires are touching. Will alot of power get lost because of that? if so can i just rewind part of it and just twist the wires together?

@SeanTuckerBrett Yes. The color can matter because some PVC is made black with carbon. Which can be conductive under certain circumstances (like... say... high voltage).
I went with a clear tube for aesthetics. Black vinyl magnet wire.

Does it matter what color the pvc tube is? i heard that if it is black, it could fry out the sencondary...

@SeanTuckerBrett I got mine from planetengineers. Got a full spool for about $200. Didn't use it all, so I still have tons left for other projects.

Not really, but he couldn't really fly straight before hand either.
I'm thinking this is a clear sign that my coil's power animal is a fly, and I might have to work that into its name somehow.
