Are these solos really by Oliver or is there a second cornetist? As, by 1930, he already had severe problems with his teeth and gum, I find it hard to believe that he was still capable of such a stunning performance.

The KING of jazz musicians. Excellent juxtapositions between the two cities. You could have added about a dozen more, at least, if there were time and room. And that's counting just the last 50 years or so.

I've just checked it. Trumpet solos are by Bubber Miley and Henry Red Allen, not by poor Oliver who was too sick at the time to play like this.

This version captures the sadness of the song far better than most recordings, in my opinion. Beautiful! Just beautiful.

Oliver was the best as the blues, because he could make the instrument do that "blusey drawl" that really delievers the melancholy feel of th tune.
