While I try to figure out why my latest comment was deleted, I actually saw the film yesterday. The use of Second Life was very clever, and also beautifully executed. Although it's pretty slow-paced and there's not much dialogue between the characters, it's still interesting to see how the cultures (Chinese, Dutch, virtual, actual) intertwine. Very decent piece overall!

@Shoord I haven't seen the movie, and I don't know if you play Second Life or not, but on a visual basis the things I have seen in this trailer are on the shit end of the stick as far as quality and aesthetics when it comes to SL. Unless he chose these things on purpose, if he had done some more searching he could have had something much prettier.

I have seen the movie in Cannes and I was very intrigued by it - at last someone who does not use Second Life as a tool for derivative SF plots, but shows it as it is for anyone who actually has understood what SL is about - a PLACE where you can go and be free... or be whatever you would be if first life allowed you... or just get away from it all. So relaxing, refreshing and stimulating - if you understand that, unlike videogames, SL does not provide you a purpose... just like life itself
