Seriously people how can you look at this and go it's amazing. 1. If you know anything about guitars and how to play them you would know that this shit is easy. 2 It's the platonic scale which is the easiest scale to learn. 3 It's tapping which is easy enough to learn. 4 Look up Zakk Wylde, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Dime Bagdarrel, David Gilmour, Stevie Ray Vaughan, these are truly great talented guitarists.

Matt Bellamy is amazingly talented, the lyrics/riffs he comes up with blow most musicians away. If you can't hear that Matt is musically gifted and a great player then you need to get your ears checked. Shredding a guitar doesn't make you good if you can't put soul in to your playing. Bellamy doesn't shred like cookie cutter metal guitarists, he actually puts soul and feeling into his music. This guitar solo is NOT why I believe Matthew Bellamy is so brilliant, it is simply the fact that when he picks up a guitar, it sounds like the guitar is itself speaking. It sounds good. It doesn't sound like x amount of notes per second, it sounds GOOD. Passion and emotion > shredding/generic guitar solos.

I'm sure there is many people that play this exact same thing, just not on a professional level, because the whammy pedal is not widely use and is, like I said, a cheap effect. I'm a guitar player, my friend who plays bass made this account. And also, noone really listens to nu metal, its more about metalcore and deathcore now. Just saying. But I think you've proven your point. I do have respect for this guy, I just think hes overrated .

Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine inovated the use of the whammy pedal way before Matthew Bellamy, and Michael Romeo, Malmsteen, Van Halen, Jason Becker, etc are leagues better than him at tapping. Rocking the whammy pedal back and forth is something anyone can do, almost no professional guitarists use it regularly, as they don't have to rely on such cheap effects constantly. I can give you plenty of beginner guitarists that do.
