I shot the 500 s&w for the first time this weekend. It was the long barrel version and was ported. The loads were near max reloads of an unknown weight. I fired two shots and put both on a 10"x14" plate at 40 yards. It was easy to shoot but the muzzle lifted quite a bit and definitely stung my supporting hand. The 44 mag desert eagle had far less recoil than the 500 but I was not as accurate with it. The 50 DTC rifle i fired was a beast.

She handled it well but next time tell her to lean into it. Any self-respecting shooter would never let someone shoot there firearm like this. Too risky, if she fell she could shoot herself or someone standing to her left, video recording, or maybe even just drop that nice investment in the dirt. either way is a bad situation. but nice to see she stepped up to the plate.

As long as a girl knows how to hold a hand gun which goes THE SAME for guys, you should be able to shoot them just fine. This includes the .500 S&w. There isn't a production handgun around that can be handled by one sex and not the other, just learn how to hold it.

Those were MAG TEC FACTORY LOADS.....325GR soft point bullets.....My apologies if this seems "unbelievable" to you....Mybe you should hold on to your 500 tighter, like she does..... ;-)

Ha!....You're right about the recoil being "softer" with those MagTec rounds....I first thought I'd given her the 440gn CorBon Solids, but noticed it was the MagTec instead....I'll admit the CorBon 440's kick pretty hard, more than the MagTec's by 50 percent (IMHO).....You probably shot a much hotter load than her, explaining the difference in felt recoil.....Thanks for posting!

Finally a tough woman. I get so depressed of watching the other women not holding the gun properly and too loosely so the hurt themselves.

In this one Michelle held it tight, and though her stance was a little bit inproper, she controlled that weapon pretty well. Hurt her hand a little though, oh well, girls are girls :D

I agree completely. To me, all the other women getting hit in the face should have tried out lesser calibers before shooting a .500. That would be like me handing my wife a .500 when the largest gun she's shot is an SKS. You know what's going to happen before it ever even takes place.

Impressive. This beats the majority of videos showing women who who are 'so scared' of a firearm. I'm always afraid these other scared women are going to accidentally shoot either themselves or someone else because their grip is so loose on the weapon because of their fear of the recoil. Control that weapon, damnit, or you've got no business going anywhere near it! Good job, Michelle!

No.. that's actually not good technique.. A shooter can much more easily control recoil if his/her shoulders are a bit forward of the feet, not behind..

Imagine a boxer in a ring... His shouders are forward so his weight goes behind his punches..

Unless your talking about snakeshot , I have not seen those type of rounds sold or manufactured for the 500 S&W , I had a .38 special with snakeshot rounds which are like shot shells, and im in the process of buying a taurus judge which uses a .410 shotshell as well as .45 colt, if your talking about that firearm then your mistaken.

I own a 500 S&W performance center and you are completely right. Whoever you are referring to must be talking about a .410/.45 colt taurus judge because simply enough , the S&W cannot accept those rounds.
