that accent she has is dead these days as far as I know, she was quite beautiful as a young woman, bring up baby is great! to bad hollywood can't even get a screenplay half as good these days

To be fair, as much as I hate the book, I dont think Mann distorted that quote from her dad. That is pretty much what it means.
