  • @ShamWasBetter1973

Ruffian's leg snapped. Literally broke off from the bone, was only dangling by the skin. That was the only reason why Foolish Pleasure won that race. If Ruffian didn't get break her leg, she would have won, no doubt. Anybody who has ever watched her race can tell you that. I watched the original footage of it on youtube not long ago. It's not the best quality but you may be able to find it. Very tragic.

  • @ShamWasBetter1973 No she didn't. She died.. And how old are you 12 ? Your very immature and rude.

  • @ShamWasBetter1973 But he was wrong. Ruffian had better times in everything. And then Big reds trainer clearly said Ruffian was better then Secretariat. And she is.

  • @johnofohu123 His trainer said Ruffian "may" be better than Sec, but later retracted that statement, after he realized he made it on the spur of the moment. All his times as a 3 year old are faster, and no horse past or present has ever matched his performance at Belmont. Have you heard of another horse that can clock 1:59 flat 1 1/4 (faster than his KD) in a 1 1/2 mile race, and keep pushing to the wire? Others would have collapsed in the stretch. In the Marlboro he beat older champs with EASE.

  • @BigPetrov Your stupid. Man O War had faster times, Thats why he is horse of the century.

  • @johnofohu123 Why did you call me stupid, and how did this argument switch to MOW, you moronic, teeny-bopping, girl power hag. You know nothing about racing. Sec clocked faster times than MOW over EVERY SINGLE DISTANCE - he didn't just beat his times, he crushed them. He even carried 8 lbs more in their 1 and 1 1/2 mile races, and still buried his times. MOW was whipped in the 1 1/8 Dwyer to beat Grier and still clocked FOUR SECONDS SLOWER then Sec at the 1 1/8 Marlboro, who won WITH EASE.

  • @ShamWasBetter1973 Well i love all horses.. I hate people who make front of them. So many cruel immature people on here. But Ruffian and Man o War and Shergar and Phar Lap are the best <3

  • @ShamWasBetter1973 Ruffian is the best of all. And they had a colt.

  • @ShamWasBetter1973 i ridden and helped out with famous race horses like Curlin but i train yealings at Belmont.

  • @ShamWasBetter1973 And Sham is not fast at all. If your gonna start a argument with a girl who knows a lot make sure you have facts!

  • @ShamWasBetter1973 Sham sucks. And i had a few grade 1 winners.

  • Please don't 'feed' the 'steroid troll.' They're hopping from one Secretariat clip to another just trying to get a rise out of somebody. Been going on for months. Just flag the comment.

  • @JeffMcNeel1 yep and im Billionaire! Get. A. Life.

  • Some idiot doesn't know what to look for in horses, steroids my ass, he wouldn't have been able to set that blistering pace and keep at Belmont even with steroids, people that don't know horses or racing should just watch appreciate and learn, no comments needed from you

  • " FANTÁSTICO , IMBATÍVEL , INACREDITÁVEL "

  • @GeorgeCarlinIsInHel1 Mrs. Tweety would NOT allow that. You're just a jealous person of Secretariat's succes and you go around and make rumors of the inoccent horse. Plus, your comment came out of no where, there were no comments of mine about Secretariat or steroids, until now. :L

  • @MrItaliano I don't think that outside the borders of America is a lifless desert. And I love horses everywhere, every horse is a good horse. And if a horse wins a U.S. race does not mean its the next big thing in horse racing, its the heart that makes it a winner. And yes I love Black Caviar, Frankel, Goldikova, Phar Lap, Zarkava, Eclipse, and more. And yes, Frankie Dettori is an excellent rider, but I don't think he is the best. I think Eddie Arcaro is, but thats just my opinion.

  • @SlapDickInYourMouth he didn't... he was all natural. Why would they make a movie of him if he used steroids? I used to think he used them but i lost that thought after while.

  • @TheExoticAnimal Secretariat was an all natural freak of a horse, and the greatest to ever set foot on a track. Don't worry about that troll. He's been spreading hate and lies on other Sec vids, and then closing his account.

  • @SECby31 Retard.. He isn't the best !

  • @TheExoticAnimal Sec isn't the best. I seen the best and i train the best.

  • Secretariat was as clean as a whistle, otherwise he wouldn't need those monster workouts that Laurin inflicted on him before each race. When he didn't perform well in one of those drilling sessions, such as before the Whitney when he was ill with fever, he lost. However, he never lost when he performed well in a workout. If he was juiced, he could just hang out in his barn/paddock until race day, and then let the drugs do their thing. Sec was a freak.

  • At 2:24 flat at the Belmont you can argue for and against all you wish but the clock doesn't lie. Secretariat was truly the greatest of them all!

  • i might meet this horse in heaven... cant wait <3

  • THE GREATEST EVER................

  • Its Awesome!!!! I'd really like to find the whole ESPN sports century movie, any help guys??

  • This is really good, are you going to post the rest of the series I would love to see them.

  • I could watch this all day. In fact, I have been watching this all day. Excellent tribute to God's Own Horse.

  • thanks partymanners !! you're back.

  • I just saw a clip of Andrew Beyer from June 2011. He went back and gathered up all the racing stats on Secretariat and reworked them using his current methodology to see what his rating would be today. He came up with 139. To say that is awesome would be an understatement!

  • Jimmy Gafney should have made it a point to call Laurin himself. I would never have taken for granted the message would get where it was suppose to go. Especially when Jimmy knew that horse so well....and Laurin knew he knew and would have listened to him. To find out later that the horse's mouth was hurting him every time Turcotte pulled the reins just hurts my heart.

  • @kwgrid Yes, Jim should have told Lucien. The horse didn't feel right and wasn't himself. To not say anything bec Lucien's father or mother in law had died and he had to leave shld've not stopped Gaffney. Listen here to Penny say Ronnie had made mistakes, Lucien saying he thought Ronnie had mistakes, Penny still sticking to uncertainty that Ron not the calibre etc. KNOWING NOW, 25 yrs later what the truth was. I just don't get it !

  • @bon1042 Well, as Bill Nack said "If Secretariat had been handled by other than flawed human beings, he would have been undefeated." :\

  • WOW GOOSEBUMPS LEAVE ME ALONE ..............HEHE IM AMAZED OF GODS PERFECT MESSAGE
