  • If I got my star trek right the only SF ships equipped with phaser pulse cannons were of the miranda and defiant classes. That being said, a G class vs a D type warbird would be a massive slug fest. I think the x factor would be the experience of both captains and crew. It is a tough one 2 call & we can't forget about the damn cloaking device.

  • Yes, but even in the old one, you always wished they could, and it always seemed stupid that they could only fire at things "below" the saucer section. you'd have to completely flip the ship to fire on anything in that half of space.

  • @dstdvl ya i think they simply forgot they had a phasor array on the top of the saucer

  • Not the enterprise D and the battle didn't finish... But at least it wasn't from fucking Legacy. +Liked.

  • 2 Phasers at the same time? That is so un strar trek-ish!

  • @Beef1188 So are the pulse phasers as seen in the latest movie. : / I think only the Defiant (and others ships of its class) are one of the few that ever used something like that.

  • @edusuntrebor Im not talking about the pulse phasers, im talking about the galaxy class firing 999999 phasers at the same time... unnatural!

  • @Beef1188 Very true, those are arrays, not cannons.

  • @Beef1188 it is capable of that, they don't usually do it because each beam is very weak compared to one concentrated blast

  • @Graham987654 You don't get it, firing 99999 phaser at the same time is not trek, ITS NOT STARTREK!

  • @Beef1188 I concur.

  • @Tiwaking Phew, what a relief, at least somebody here besides me that uses his head for something other than just thumping! :D

  • Please Tell Me The Name Of This Game

  • @Clat2o Star Trek Bridge Commander

  • One, no starship in the history of Star Trek has EVER fired more than one phaser bank at a time. Two, a Galaxy-class starship would not so easily defeat a Romulan starship of this class. Three this game is NOT that old.

  • @protoborg Nemesis, maybe?

  • @protoborg dont you ever watch voyager. they fired three at once rilst rising through a radioactive atmospheere and a galaxy class is huge and it does say to be continued

  • @protoborg watch sacrifice of angels and you'll see the uss venture firing 2 paser blasts at a cardie galor class

  • @protoborg since 1 and 2 has been responded, I'll respond to 3

This game is from 2002. That is really old

  • @StelarCF Just to clarify, any Starship which fires more than one phaser blast at once is unique. Phaser banks are all powered from a single source of energy. Also the word "phasers" is really a misnomer. It is actually one continuous system so firing from more than one location would be like trying point a hose in more then one direction at the same time.

Galaxy class starships are no more powerful than the Romulan equivalent.

Eight years is not OLD. It is oldER.

  • @protoborg I didn't say anything about firing more than one phaser blast at a time ;)

also if you have two lightbulbs you can power both of them from the same source (for example a car battery)

    Same goes for phaser banks.

However it is badly-illustrated in this video because you can't fire two streams from the same phaser bank

  • @StelarCF Actually, the phaser banks are NOT at all like light bulbs as they are concentrated BEAMS of energy.

Plus, they are ALL controlled by the same targeting system. That would mean they can fire only one at time.

  • @protoborg Even if they are controlled by the same targeting system it doesn't mean that targetting system can't compute some simple angles for more phaser banks.

Also are you so stiff you can't even realise that was a comparation?

tl;dr; You are an idiot. You didn't even get a single thing right out of my third sentence.

  • @protoborg im sure a single targeting system is a bit more capable than that since modern fighter jets can launch missiles against two or three enemies at a time using one targeting system, the enterprise is a few hundred years more advanced, think about it

  • @protoborg btw oldER needs a comparation; since there is none the word is

    OLD.

A PC game from 8 years ago is OLD

  • Two of the best looking ships in Star Trek going toe to toe.

  • 17 people are Romulans.

  • Very well executed! Better than anything JJ Abrams and his flunkies could come up with!

  • Very nice, you're quite talented.

All those jerks who pressed "dislike" probably achieved nothing in their life.

  • A little more sedate and less dynamic than some battles I've seen on here, but entertaining nonetheless.

  • Wow, did you make this?

  • ummm Enterprise D against a Romulan warbird? you might wanna get the registry # right. LOL!

  • Nothing like watching two juggernauts going at it toe to toe. Galaxy class starship is TEH AWESOME!!!!!111

  • is this game star trek legacy

  • Give the guy a break. So it's the Galaxy not the Enterprise. Aren't ships designs named for the first of it's kind? Enterprise-D was Galaxy class.....

  • WHAT THE HECK? It's NCC-1701-D. Not 70637. Watch more Star Trek. NCC-70637 was the call for the USS Galaxy. USS Galaxy (NCC-70637) is the full name.

  • oo i have this game sweet

  • whats the name ot this game?

  • i downloaded it on a CD and it AWSOMEH!

  • While that IS a galaxy class starship, the serial number does not match Enterprise D. Please change the title.

  • @thedavecorp FWIW, that's the NCC number of USS Galaxy.

  • @thedavecorp Dave are you serious? Just wondering....

  • Is the update mod the BC Supermod 3 3.0?

  • hope this isn't KM1.0 cuz KM1.0 under powers all races but the feds hell if ur good at it even an akira can destpry a borg diamond an a sov can destory basicly a few borg spheres b4 taking any damnage in the right hands

  • @superlordgoku KM1.0 is one of the better mods for this game, which is played by the community up till now, although it´s buggy like hell :P Even though I agree that federation ships are more powerful than all the other races´ ships, you can´t destroy all those so easily... at least not in Multiplayer. There, I haven´t seen one guy yet, destroying a Borg Diamond with an Akira! Even with a Sovereign it´s still a hard job....

  • @Uriguri098 lol then u havn't watched toga and i'm sure i've watched u take out a diamond pretty easy LA Uri :P

  • @superlordgoku Yep, I have killed a Diamond with a Sovy in MP. But that was only possible, because my opponent made some mistakes when he was fighting me. Basically, that´s the ONLY way how you can beat a Diamond with a Sovereign (in this mod). On the other hand, a Diamond can be killed by an Excalibur class vessel...quite easily^^

So, you might be right... Feddies FTW^^

  • @Uriguri098 lol excal's are powerfull but sumthing fast can easyly beat it with some hard work put into it that is ;P but then agian a swarm of fast ships that can cloak makes the huge exal's and hutet's sitting ducks lol :o tho personally i've had fun shooting down lag ships (hutet's and excal's) with everyone from the lame DD/EG to KS IKF CB XFS FA (USS tags ;p) and even some LA members like eire (:D fun person to go shooting ships up with :D)

  • @Uriguri098 don't underestimate the Akira class it can still fire the most torpedoes far more rapidly than any other starship, arm it with quantum torpedoes and it is all but unstoppable

  • Those shields are a disaster, as you can't even notice while you're attacked.

They are pratically invisible. The original Bridge Commander has better visible shields.

  • hey i have the demo of this game (cant seem to find the actual game to buy at a reasonable price...) and ive never been able to get my ship to fire more than one phaser bank at a time, and it looks like in here its firing both the top and bottom phasers. is it like a mod thing, or is it in the full game? or am i just doing it wrong?

  • @DarkTibbles

Bridge Commander is a very old game. But because of the mods, packs and enhancements, it remains one of the best Star Trek game to this day.

The original game is very old...you only have a few shps, graphix and effects are awful. When you get the actual game, you will need to download an update mod.

It will add about 100 ships to the game and make everything 10X better.

  • @NightwishRaven999 funny, many people claim that Klingon Academy is the best Star Trek game.

  • @NightwishRaven999 ok what mod is that? i got bridge commander

  • @Paulus2084 I think it's Kobayashi Maru mod

  • @NightwishRaven999 Yes it is an old game but the graphics are in no way terrible.

  • @DarkTibbles Why does the title say "Enterprise D" when the registry number NCC-70637 belongs to the U.S.S. Galaxy?

  • @TheJoseph4774

I did not have the original Enterprise D model at the time I made this video.

  • @DarkTibbles Same Here, overpriced, on amazon .com it was $250

  • @DarkTibbles the full version of this game is generally available on Amazon. but, due to it's rarity (at the time, it was extra craptacular), it's well over 100 bucks. there are "cracks" available, BUT, the mod community frown on these (do NOT mention cracked versions to ANYONE, you will be insta banned)

the multiple firing is part of a huge mod called Kobayashi maru. it lets you fire more than one beam at once

  • @DarkTibbles hwy man i know u said this a year ago , but if you torrent bridge commander with utorrent , its just like the retail version , just google utorrent , download it , then search google for the pirate bay , after that type in star trek bridge commander in the search box , after that click the file , then click download torrent , then open it with u torrent , after its done downloading , open in with winrar (google it if you dont allredy have it ) then extract to wherever suits u best

  • @DarkTibbles contnueing my last comment : hope i helped :P

PS:get the one that is prepatched 1.1 so you kan donwload the kobayashi maru mod which is the mod that everyone plays multiplayer with

  • @DarkTibbles The mod does not change that, you can fire top and bottom, the game is about positioning you phaser banks etc.

  • If that's the Stock Warbird then the easiest way to take her down is to get behind her. The Warbird is pretty powerful, but has horrible weapons coverage in the game. I kill them with RedNova's Equinox quite easily due to their coverage. First thing I target is the cloak.

  • I don't think that's the Enterprise. The registry number is wrong

  • I know...I was hoping no one would notice : ) Its actually the Uss.Galaxy.

I did not have the Enterprise D version of the Galaxy class model when I made this video.

  • Don't worry about it. It's a good video though. I like it

  • Also, it might have helped if the Galaxy had fired earlier with a spread of ten torpedoes (its launcher can hot-load 16 and fire 10 simultaneously from a single launcher).

  • Actually, in Bridge Commander a Galaxy class ship can only fire 8 torpedoes at one time and can only fire in bursts of four.

The Nebula Class ship is capable of launching more torpedoes due to its torpedo pod on top of the saucer section.

  • Yeah I know, the normal BC is retarded. That's why you use the actual proper DJ Curtis Galaxy class, which is accurate to the show and tech manual. I can go into quite extensive detail if you wish:D

  • I will look into this...might be able to download this ship : )

Sounds cool, but we have never seen a Galaxy class ship fire more than 8 torpedoes at a time in Trek.

In TNG, we seen the Enterprise-D firing up to 8 photons from the rear launcher and 8 photons from the forward laucher.

We have also seen the Enteprise fire in bursts of four, but never more than that ; )

  • Look in the Tech manual written by the creators of the show:D It can fire ten simultaneously, while hot-loading 16 on hot standby. I can send you the PDF of the TNG tech manual if you wish.

  • I believe you...Im just saying we have never seen that on screen.

Too bad...Galaxy class ships would have been even more kick ass in the Dominion war ! : D

  • They were epic in the Dominion war; you saw one in the background in one of the battles going @ a Dominion Battleship. @ the conclusion of the Dominion war (according to the writers), there were around 400 Galaxy classes in service, out of 30000 Federation ships (about right considering it's their top battleship).

  • What ?! Where ? How ?

Gene Roddenberry himself said there should only be a few Galaxy class ships in service. It is commonly estimated that 30 Galaxy class ships were in service during the Dominion war and that there were about 7000-8000 Starfleet ships in total. Starfleet has around 15 fleets, each numbering around 200-500 ships...that comes nothing close to 30000 !

Where did you get those numbers from ?

  • @ the time of the beginning of TNG there were thirty Galaxy classes, as Starfleet wasn't on a war footing and the ships they had were enough to maintain the peace; then the Dominion showed up. The Dominion war had the effect that the Japanese attacking Pearl Harbor had on the US (they started pumping out a LOT of ships). In Sacrifice of Angels, the fleet of six hundred Fed ships showed thirteen Galaxy classes on screen @ once, and that fleet were only comprised of elements of two other fleets.

  • I mean, you have to understand. 30000 isn't unreasonable, considering as of the Dominion war the Federation spanned 8000 lightyears; you need that number of ships to effectively defend and be able to carry out exploratory and scientific missions.

  • Actually I find that quite unreasonable.

You are the first person I have met who thinks the Federation has over 10 000 ships. In the episode "Favor the Bold"...two fleets come together to form some 600 ships we see in "Sacrifice of Angels". Starfleet has about 15 fleets...how does that even come close to 30000 ? : )

  • No, they said "elements" of two other fleets, ie small parts of two others. It was implied that the Federation wasn't putting many resources into taking back DS9, as they were occupied on other fronts.

  • You win...but I still do not think the Federation has 30 k ships.

  • Actually to be fair, it was quoted @ being 25000 to 30000 (so I may be as much as 5000 off, which isn't quite OVER 9000!).

  • I am sorry, I am very much aware of everything Trek related and it is known that there was never a mention as to how many ships there are in Starfleet. All this is just speculation.

I dont know where you get your quotes from, but certainly not from the technical manuals. Every source on the web estimates the Federation to have between 4000-8000 ships.

Take a look at the Daystrom Institute Technical Library.

  • i would agree with this, there were 2800 dominion ships waiting to come from the gama quodrent and with that the expected to crush the federation, if the feds had 30k ship then 2800 dom ships would stand a chance

  • Thanks...its one of my first BC videos, so it isnt fantastic.

  • good stuff
