  • if i might make a suggestion; i can hear the song playing in the background, but it's too quiet. should have the instrumental coming in stronger to back up your awesome harmonica playing. liking button now.

  • nice

  • Fucking solo! Great! Would like to play like that

  • but, I do like that you're able to play this song. I happen to like that harmonica solo a lot.

  • It doesn't take practice to play a harmonica, you just play it.

You either enjoy playing one or you dont.

There's no skill to it, you just have to have an ear for it.

  • YOU my friend are the best harmonica player EVER! Nice!

  • O.o

  • tounge block or lip pucker?

  • most people neglect to notice that in order to play a harp one uses a lot of air... If anyone has never tried ... submerge yourself under water then breath and scream through a straw... that is how hard it is to breath while playing a solo like this...

  • This sounds nothing like the solo

  • @ElliottChick shut the fuck up. what talent do you have? better yet, what talent do you have that you're brave enough to post for the whole world to see? refer to my first sentence you dumb bitch!!

  • Holy shit! that was amazing! Screw the talent show! im not even close to this! lmao

  • aaawww man... i want to play like john popper!!! you're a harmonica beast, dude!

  • are you fucking kidding me. this is ridiculous. props man

  • doesn't sound anything like the song

  • @HARKE90 Tempo's way off too.

  • how do u bend notes its hard

  • egads, man! *uppin' m'thumb atcha*

  • wow very close!

  • killer

  • Hey! Good Attempt!

  • doesnt sound anything like it in my opinion... maytbe slower?

  • Great job man gotta give ya props for that

  • Great Stuff!

  • You are a fucking god!!!!!

  • That was a kick ass cover brother.

    Pretty damn good.

  • Wow! That sounded great! Good job.

  • how.... hahaha awesome solo! I want to learn to do this one pretty bad.

  • wow! i didnt think it was possible to do this except blues trav! that is amazing! i could tell exactly what it was. just a tiny bit slow in the beginnin but wow, beautiful playing

  • @sexypoetry The Poles aren't shift there melting like they do every so often. it's normal. so fuck off!

  • it is normail? r u also normal? yes? u gonna die in a year or two with the 95% of normal people, normally.

i was never exactly "normal" so i guess i have bit more chance to go on (and more reasons to do so....blowing blues into harmonica as you do wont be on my list, i've got more interesting things to do)

  • Nicely done

  • well done my man, well done

  • Dude,u sound great..relax alittle...ugot it pretty good..check my vid blues crossharp player..Harmonicapete

  • Some extra notes thrown in there but not bad.

  • You do a video and let's see how you do. People who make comments such as yours should be able to do better then what they are complaining about. So if you can not do better then this guy then I wouldn't post anything. So I'm looking forward to your video of this.

  • @msteacy1975 Your statement is retarded. Just because i have an opinion on something doesnt mean i think i can do it better. I think Tony Romo is a shitty QB, does that mean i think i'd be a better QB? Of course it doesnt. Your logic sucks.

  • @Danklin24 plus i think i told him it wasnt bad, just extra notes put in. You're a genius.

  • thats was awsome

  • last comment was crazy...that was awesome....keep it up. Popper rocks

  • It is so bad, its to fast

  • How about you post a video showing us how it should be. If you can't play the harmonica or do better then you should not post a comment such as yours. People who make comments such as yours should be able to show us how to do it the correct way. Again I'm looking forward to your video so I can see how it should be played. Take care and God bless you and yours.

  • Nice man! Original style but faithful homage to Popper. Happy chanukah

  • Thats very good man. It's impossible to get it exactly right I think

  • very badass

  • When I first started watching I was like shit it's a real life cowboy. Then I remember it was 2009. Cowboys are extict.

  • not in Alberta or texas :P

  • too fast

  • sweet

  • in which note is that harmonica man?? =D

  • Better than ill ever do but it sounded like you tried to be faster or rushed idk it sonded wrong

  • 5 WOWs for you!!!

  • pretty fuckin fantastic man

  • NICE JOB!

  • thats close dude good job

  • oh shit dude, that was freakin amazing!!! my hats off to you bro, great job!!!!

  • dude, that is sick!!!!!! great job

  • damn.

  • dude you are so good. usually only popper gives me the chills but this shit was fucking amazing. well done man

  • Awsome Dude

  • High fucking five!

    "BlazingHarpSolos "

or is it "Blazing Harp Solos "

Gosh tell me please how you played that?

No.... Really.... What key what brand what pattern what caffeine level, and I mean that most sincerely. WTF awesome!

    Did I high five? Double-check! Cha-Cha-Cha!

Please let me know how to subscribe to your channel on You Tube. And thanks again.

  • 15 years of practice :)

Special 20, Key of D. Just listening over and over and picking out the notes.

    Thanks!

  • Wow, dude. John Popper may be the best, but that was pretty impressive! Great Job, man.

  • very nice.

  • pretty damn good my friend

  • John Popper is the best Harmonica player to ever live. but good try

  • I agree 100%! I've never seen anyone - except perhaps Sugar Blue - even come close. It's taken me over 10 years to get to where I am and gosh I feel like I'm a 3 or 4 or so and Popper's a 10. He makes it so natural.

  • Great video! You say you've never seen anyone come close to Popper- Jason Ricci and the kid L D Miller are just as good if not better although they aren't the same style.

  • You are so right...he is the best...look, even if someone can play popper note for note, popper is still the one that initially wrote this amazing crazy harmonica parts...so he will always be the best

  • @arlendixon John Popper was great...but check out Jason Ricci...he has a ton of videos here on youtube....you'll see what I mean....this gut to me is the best Harp player to ever live....but....I really enjoyed this video as well keep up the rockin brotha!

  • @arlendixon Jason ricci is the guy

  • i used to have that couch.

  • best comment ever

  • LOL

  • damn good attempt. you get a 8/10 from me since it wasnt quite there but thank god i was ready to flame you when i saw this video on here ha

  • that was a very good solo, but is not hook , maybe almost near

  • Wow that was a damn good attempt

  • i lost my breath just watching this

    great job

  • Harpdoggy is d-bag, we need more Popper like players! And you are a great player! All other harp players are the same, so being Popper esque is actually a unique thing.

  • what? dude for real? he is rockin the harp and all you can say is the world already has one John Popper... you can just go sit on your thumb mate

  • WOW !!! very nice!!!

  • 1 little mistake but who's counting lol

  • clearly, you are.

  • dude that was unreal you are amazing. dead on the money

  • dude thats AMAZING

  • dude that was amazing..I have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with John Popper, and you are the closest thing.

  • f'n spot on

  • That was great, but it would've sounded more 'right' with the other instruments. I wish I could play that thing.

  • F'ing brilliant man...nice work!

  • Dang. Awesome job dude!

  • Wooo! Absolutely beautiful man, you've got that down.

  • that was dead on! sick dude

  • brilliant.... i havent heard anyone bend that high note so much before.... really great.

  • Holy shit. Awesome.

  • thats sick man, what key is your harp>?

  • Dude, i think that´s an A major.

  • The harp is the key of "D" - the song is in the key of "A"

  • great job

  • That was sweeet! I love your playing, 5/5 stars.

  • Where can I find the tab for this?

  • That was great man.

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Very noob

  • fantastic, mate!

i'm still struggling mastering this song with my harmonica

  • goin to pick up my harmonica today...should i buy the book too or just try to learn myself?

  • Hey Trey.

There are a lot of books on how to play harmonica, and I used about 10 of those books, but once you get the hang of it, buy Blues Trav's "Four" book which has Popper's harp tab at the back. While you can learn it on your own, it's better to have all the notes in front of you, and then just memorize 20 notes at a time and keep going.

  • awesome!

  • that was awesome

i think im gonna have to start playing harp

  • Way to be.

  • I could never play the harmonica to be truthfull and just watching this makes me wonder who you can I just never understood how one really works, I thought this was awesome.

  • you'd be rockin' out in jail (with the traditional playing of the harmonica in your cell thingy, ya know?)

  • awsome

  • That was amazing dude.

  • cool man.

  • im pretty bad at harp so im trying to learn to play something similar, my twist, to this solo on organ. what scale is this solo on?

  • Although the harp used is a "D" harp, the actual key of the song is "A" major. Chord structure:

    A E F#m C#m D A D E (repeat)

  • Try soloing in the relative minor which is actually A major, but use the pentatonic scale; so it would be F#m pentatonic.

  • what key is that harmonica

  • I'm using a Hohner Meisterklasse in D.

Would have sounded less distorted if I used a microphone.

  • Sounded awesome. Few people realize how difficult that is. I'm impressed, dude. Thumbs up. WAY up.

  • nice try.. far better than i could do, since i don't play... the only thing i would say is .. it sounds basically, but twice as fast. lol.

  • not bad man, congrats

  • ehh... ok i guess.

  • do you have any idea how hard that is, next time you get the chance buy one of those cheap $5 harmonica's and just try to play 5-10 SINGLE notes in a row without the other notes spilling in, i bet you that in order to do it you would have to commit to enough practice that by the end of it you would realize just how good this is. For that matter try to BEND or OVERBLOW a note, fat chance.

  • Thanks, goldbugggg! It took me about a year to get the hang of single notes, and it can take others longer. I recommend Special 20 harmonicas, which often cost around $20 - that's what Popper uses and what I've found work the best for me as well. Lee Oskars aren't that bad for beginners either.

  • yeah i use special 20's, although popper isn't my favorite harmonica player, don't get me wrong popper is great, but i think my favorite harmonica players right now are Jason Ricci, or Octavio Castro <----amazing, check him out, he plays the diatonic COMPLETELY CHROMATICALLY, he's a jazz harp player.

  • it took me like 5 minutes to get the single notes, but i dont know where to go from here...i have a little crappy tombo harmonica that i found around the house. do i buy the books and just take it from there?
