Trying to compare Polarion's products to the Wicked Lasers Torch is laughable. Polarion is the gold standard in HID search lights. The WL's Torch is a novelty item at best. I hope to some day be able to afford one of these products!
Can you use this light in combat? If this light can illuminate tagets at a greater range than other lights. This light creates a signature beyond your field of view determined by this light's max illumitnation point. In this case anyone with a night vison scope can target and kill this lights opertaor in total darkness from hundereds of yards beyond this lights efficteive range. Rendering this light useless in an acutual combat.
I desire to get the PH50 as I think it's the best flashlight system in the world. It even goes under water for Pete's sake!
I buy flashlights and do video comparisons and the Torch is a novelty for flashlight fans, but after using it for 4 months, my batteries only last for 4 minutes.
The Torch from wicked lasers is smaller, weights less, and is 100 lumens brighter, but the polarion has much more quality, and comes with much more extra features.
Awesome flashlight system especially in bad weather and emergencies.

what's the run time?
mavue 2 years ago
Runtime is dependent on the Model
35-watts - 90 mins
40-watts - 70 mins
50-watt - 60 mins
All runtimes are +/- 10% dependent on ambient temp and battery condition

Id like to put that on my AR, but for the price, I could buy 2 AR 15's
crazyadel 2 years ago
Yes, one AR in each hand.

@crazyadel I'd like to see you mount a 4lb searchlight on your AR, too, then hold it up for more than 2 minutes... ;)

or for little money a fenix...
meisterdark 2 years ago 2
@meisterdark Fenix are better lights though. Surefire you are only paying for brand name. You are a sucker for buying surefires.

I don´t know much about this kind of flashligt´s so im wondering if they get really hot? Is it possible to run them on 12V (cig plug)?
J1I9M7M4Y 3 years ago
HID runs fairly cool. I run 3,500 lumens for an hour and a half with no heat problems.
Halogen has a huge heat problem. LED has no problem.

The PF/PH40 shown in this presentation is actually certified/emitting 4,150 lumens....But who is counting ;)
Our new PF/PH50 in the same body emits 5,200 lumens. Noticeably more intense/powerful than our 40-watt systems.
