  • Nice to see this man do a reality check and get on the right side of things! Right thinking leads to right actions! Jews are very intelligent and look closely into issues and have a unique gifting to discern truth and apply facts to their decisions! Thankyou. James Sasse. GodWhoisGod com

  • Much of what Mamet says is self-evident, the idea that this therefore leads to Capitalism being 'right' is a non-sequiter. I've now read the secret knowledge and find it full of these 'jumps' in reason, a lot of 2 and 2 making 5. The book is highly tendentious and full of clever - clever phraseology that isn't really saying anything new. If the right-wing wants someone to convert so-called 'liberals' to their agenda, they'll have to look somewhere else.

  • Mamet, responding without hesitation, answering without equivocation...

What a one-two intellectual punch this man is... and he got himself right simply by asking questions, using logic, and doing his homework.

    Welcome home.

  • Liberalism is a cesspool of imbecility. Good to see a man of letters bear the torch of justice and truth.

  • Did you really need the money that bad, David!? Sickening stock sophistry.

Master dramatic stylist cum hollow political hack.

  • And with such a large percentage of the worlds wealth in the hands of such a small minority of people, that means nearly everybody losing"... and the alternative is what? in socialism its "equal" mediocrity for all. 49% of americans pay no TAXES. got that? top 5% pay 90% of the taxes. meaning those with wealth. without the billy gates of the world or waren buffets who will pay taxes for all ur kumbaya programs? thats the logic u non-capitalists can never answer? who will invent for free?

  • You are awesome Rush! David tells it like it is in Hollywood, and how disgustingly childish the liberal mindset is. It is a spiritual disease.

  • i love the way these moronic right wing radio hosts are so impressed with Mamet ,happy they've found someone who proclaims himself conservative and also ha half a brain. However, Mamet says he cannot rationally state the liberal position...this is disingenuous and he knows it. Mamet''s always had a fascination with 'secret knowledge', having a rationalist viewpoint. I'm not convinced by his arguments, though I'm impressed with his apparent rationality and erudition.

  • @cp1492 fag

  • @toejam152

go and fuck your mother you fucking retard, and while you're at it get her to read some books or something you absolute cock-gobbling, brainless, blatantly homosexual cunt.

  • @cp1492 mr. mamet is a self-collective as opposed to a statist or mob collective. he comes to the dance of society today from his own mind and thoughts as opposed to others'. by flowing thru life in hollywood, of course he was liberal by default. likewise with me as a blak man, after spending most of my years on auto-pilot, 'm now a libertarian both economically +socially. most blaks need CAPITALISM not more aid, govt or nonprofit boshit. esp in africa, where are the cap'm teachers +promoters?

  • @reg12269

you say you need capitalism - don't you already have it?

  • @cp1492 no! where do u see it? reverend this , aid that. we are the products of charity, big govt spending and reparations. look at the schools. capitalism education should be #1 for blaks. with all the hollywood hypocrites, is it not clear that they are all rich +successful in the cap'm game? blaks as a whole need to get some. look at jay-z or even billy gates III, pisses me off to hear that oushing aid +charity rather than teaching and promoting the same CAP'M that got them successful!

  • @reg12269

I don't think I'm really qualified to judge what's best for everyone, but I will say this - capitalism is a zero-sum game - in order for some to win, others must lose. And with such a large percentage of the worlds wealth in the hands of such a small minority of people, that means nearly everybody losing. If you think capitalism work sby everyone having a shot and eventually getting their chance, you need to take a closer look at the world

  • @cp1492 That's complete bullshit capitalism is not a zero sum game. If capitalism is a zero sum game then where did the computer you typed that ignorant statement come from? there weren't a limited number o computers in the world with people fighting over them, they were CREATED. SO were cars and cellphones, and air conditioning and many other things that make life so much easier. 200 years ago even the richest men in the world didnt have those things because they didn't exist. Wealth is created

  • @AynRandRevolution

I don't see the relevancy of that. Millions of people in the world DON'T have a computer - or even running water - and it is this state of affairs that allows us to have them.Capitalism is zero-sum because in order someone to succeed, someone else must fail. In order for us to live, others must die. If wealth can be 'created' so easily, explain the economic crisis America now finds itself in, after years of giving the 'wealth - creators' a completely free hand?

  • @cp1492 Capitalism is not a zero sum game wealth is CREATED every time a new product is invented, every time a better product is invented. the idea that for someone to succeed someone else must fail is bullshit. When you buy a product you buy it because it is worth more to you than the money you paid for it and the person who sells you the product values the money more than the product. BOTH PARTIES BENEFIT.

  • @cp1492 The economic crisis we're in occurred because government has grown out of control. Government bailed out the banks that made bad loans and Government created fannie mae and freddie mac the companies that made giving out bad loans en-masse possible. look up the details of the CRA (community re-investment act.) Government essentially mandated that banks give bad loans. Capitalism didn't cause the economic crisis government regulation did.

  • @cp1492 the economic crisis has nothing to do with capitalism. it has everything on the hand to do with CORPORATISM. in a free market banks that make bad loans don't get bailed out. but because of congress banks were bailed out at the expense of the tax payers and at the expense of our dollar. the government printed money to pay for the bailouts and for its own bloated bureaucracy which of course leads to inflation that hurts the poor the most. none of that happens under true capitalism.

  • @cp1492 you want to argue relevancy? what does millions of people not having a computer have to do with anything? NOBODY had computers before they were invented you do realize that right. Computers being invented didn't make anybody poorer. it did make some people richer but nobody was made poorer from its invention. Is what really what you want for everybody to be equally poor? for there to be no new innovation?

  • @cp1492 In America for one dollar plus sales tax even a homeless man can scrounge up enough change to buy a hamburger at McDonald and at no additional charge said homeless man can have with with his hamburger water. Clean, Safe to drink water, as much of it as he wants. Because of capitalism even the poorest in this country have access to clean drinking water. that's more than the command and control economies of Africa, Asia and the former soviet union/block can claim.

  • As an aside, Ayn Rand is long discredited and laughed at by any serious intellectual, including those on the right.

  • @cp1492 Just because you don't like Ayn Rand doesn't mean shes been discredited or that she isn't taken seriously. A more accurate statement would be that you don't like her because you think society owes you something and she doesn't agree with that. BTW I don't agree with you either YOUR need is not a mortgage on MY life. just because you are too lazy or too incompetent to make a decent life for yourself doesn't mean I should have to sacrifice whats in my rational self interest to help you.

  • @cp1492 As is Paul Krugman, and by many on the left as well. Your point? Get back to picking lint out of your belly button while you solve the world's problems the only way you know how.

  • @cano21

You brought up Paul Krugman, not me. I have no interest in his ideas. Also, if you're going to insult someone, make sure it makes sense and isn't entirely irrelvent.

. "The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness." -J.K. Galbraith

  • The vile, disgusting comments about Mr. Mamet's point of view is something that I have heard many times while working on film sets in Hollywood. I find it ironic that the above the line folks who pontificate that conservatives are racist and are not inclusive live in the most exclusive white neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Black listing lives in Hollywood and it is practiced by Hollywood fascist who call themselves progressives. Now I'll get back to lighting my set.

  • @matthewbgod, have you actually read what the terrorists are saying? Yes, many of them want to eradicate the Jews. All Jews. It is easily investigated, if you have the ears to hear, instead of just using "normalcy bias" to bury your head in the sand and ignore what is really being said and done in the middle east.

  • @PLFlistserv My point is that you shouldn't go from being a 'liberal' to being a 'conservative' because of the views of terrorists. I don't give a fuck what Hamas say, they are a bunch of pre-enlightenment thugs. They have no influence on my political views.

  • If I was listing his best films I'd reference House of Games, Redbelt, Heist, and Spartan. By the way, I'm neither a liberal or a conservative but they have some great points. I'm always interested in what Mamet has to say. Democrats and Republicans are very similar when it comes down to hierarchy. It's like a country club.

  • @jackieeffinbrown Instead of challenging his ideas, you call him names and use profanity. Why should anyone be surprised at your response?

  • Impressive transformation Mr. Mamet. Welcome aboard. We welcome you into the world of clear thinking conservatives. Liberalism is a disease, we've known this instinctively and to have a man of your stature join our ranks is just wonderful.

  • Did Mamet actually say that Palestinian terrorists want to kill every jew in the world? Like the Nazis? He is a fucking disgrace!

  • Comment removed

  • @matthewbgod ,

You truly are ignorant! Mamet didn't state his opinion, but a well known fact. You know, there is a really great tool that works especially well for dummies, called Google! You might try it out...just for fun...and learning! The sad part is, I doubt you will let facts get in the way of your hateful ideology. Just don't blame the truth tellers for it!

  • @YankyerNoodle Palestinian terrorists, i.e Hamas are horrible scumbags who do much more harm than good for the palestinian people they are supposed to represent, but the bottom line is they want their land back and the destruction of Israel with it, not a second holocaust. Anyway is Mamet saying that Liberalism is brain-dead because terrorists are terrible? Is that it? Please fill me in.

  • Wow what a clear thinking man. I am impressed.

  • @TalkerOne He certainly is clear thinking, but this Mamet guy is a complete brain-dead conservative.
