When setting the system in the vertical position, use the vertical stand (sold separately) for this model of the system. Also, do not change the position of the system while it is turned on"

The tray does not secure the cd right. It just lays the cd there loosely and if you turn it it will rub against the sensor or something like that. But maybe you can take it to a shop and get a PS3 tray inserted instead. It will take a lot of reshaping and welding though. Thats what i once thought about doing.

Actually it only happens with disc trays that use a really low quality suspension system. It hasn't been an issue with DVD players for a very long time. Microsoft just likes to use really low quality parts to maximize their profits and screw over their user base. For some reasons the users believe the half-assed excuses and still defend Microsoft even though they probably have the WORST track record for defects of any electronics/software company.

it's conservation of angular momentum a law of physics... something spinning in one direction naturally wants to keep spinning in that direction. Even if a particular CD/DVD player has "protection" you are still putting alot of extra strain on the motors by turning it with the disk in motion because it has to fight to steady the disk.

Also, you can get a greater experience in FPS using a PC because you can aim more precisely, but with consoles, you get a confortable controller and, in most cases, a confy couch. If I play videogames while the console is standing upright the "whisper quiet" goes to VERY loud buzzing reminiscent of my old ps2. Upon hearing this I decided I would just sit it flat, very delicately(I'm aware moving disk drives while being used is bad). It sounds way worse then this vid depicts and my mass effect 2 disk is completely trashed.

I've had my ps3 for 3 years. I have dropped it, kicked it over, it has fallen from pretty high places, all of this happened while a game was playing... Not a scratch on anygame. Not to mention my ps3 still works fine. My xbox 360 elite has destroyed 9 games. Enough said

Actually it only happens with disc trays that use a really low quality suspension system. It hasn't been an issue with DVD players for a very long time. Microsoft just likes to use really low quality parts to maximize their profits and screw over their user base. For some reasons the users believe the half-assed excuses and still defend Microsoft even though they probably have the WORST track record for defects of any electronics/software company.

I have several friends with xboxes and they take great care of them and not even move them, yet every single one of them had problems. If microsoft really is so great and godly, then they should've built them with better quality. it's conservation of angular momentum a law of physics... something spinning in one direction naturally wants to keep spinning in that direction. Even if a particular CD/DVD player has "protection" you are still putting alot of extra strain on the motors by turning it with the disk in motion because it has to fight to steady the disk.

Also, you can get a greater experience in FPS using a PC because you can aim more precisely, but with consoles, you get a confortable controller and, in most cases, a confy couch. So, it's up to the player to decide what he/she will be playing on.

My Xbox360 was on the table and I was playing GTA 4 . I was angry and hit my fist on the table.I heard the disc spinning inside.Disc ruined. I kicked my wii real hard it still worked,the disc inside worked as well.I hit my ps2 the same way on another gta playing my disc also still works (sometimes starting up problems)The consoles can all still be played.And I hit my NDS screen real hard and it turned purple,my fist hurted from that one.
