  • Awesome!

  • Please please please play "Journey of a Sorcerer".

  • Nice. Your banjo has a great growl to it. Now I have to try a frailing version...

  • where are the chords

  • that was great to watch and listen to - thanks

  • this is sickie dude! rock on

  • I want to learn how to play the banjo so much, i dont know what kind to get or where to take lessons or anything

  • Bravo!

  • awesome! :D

  • ohmagawd <3

  • what rolls you using for that, hard to see, but looks mostly forward rolls?

  • is dat a 5string banjo???

  • great version sounds right to me

  • This was very nice...reminds me of some of the Bach stuff that makes you wonder if the one who wrote the music didn't do it for banjo, then switch to guitar because it fits the banjo really well. You're being too hard on the folks who'd like to see your fingerings...we're just a little lazy...and start from different talent levels!

  • @tuckytunes Maybe I am a little harsh with it, but I just feel that tablature can be such a crutch that it slows down your development, rather than encourage you to learn. When I've tutored people in the past I always encourage them to try and learn by ear - even if they're just taking a wild guess at the note(s) it's changing their hearing to an active element of their musicianship, and adds a sense of ownership to a song

  • @thekev506 Couldn't agree more. Tabs are a trap! I've been addicted to tabs since '97, but haven't learned the name to a single chord or string until last month when I picked up an ukulele!

  • dude are you in G? lol

  • clawhammer or bluegrass?

  • @MCv720 bluegrass style, for the chords I'm just strumming gently with my thumbpick

  • PSG jersey.... cool

  • @7markosmezza7 yeah that's definitely got to be one of my favourite football shirts of all time, though Everton's home shirt from this season is pushing it out a little :P

  • i know whatcha mean, its just classic

  • most people mess up hotel in california but u didnt man 5/5 good job keep um coming :)

  • hey i think it sounds really cool!! its my familys favourite song to sing when they are drunk. im just starting out learning so still clinging onto my tabs.a i want to learn some new stuff not all the old red neck stuff can you send me the tab or tell me where to find it. really cool! thanks x i realise lots of people have asked but im gunna ask again cause its mint!

  • Oh my god YES! i like it :)

  • right on, I like how you play by ear. Anyone can read sheet music and repeat enough times to play faster and make a song, playing by ear is playing music, hearing music. Right on, good job and keep up the good work.

  • not anybody. One does need immense practice for sight reading. And it is a good quality. But yes, noway better than playing by ear.

  • This is not the actual solo you're playing. In the original song, the solo starts on the 5th, and you're starting it on the minor third. Don't get me wrong, I mean it still works - you're following the chord changes, but you're doing sort of a harmonized variation on it.

  • He never said it's the solo. Next time you comment on something, try staying on point. (Too much wine, maybe)?

  • They call you observationman for a reason! Muahahaha

  • Actually, observationman, he DOES say that it's the solo, at 1:50 in the video:

"just copying the original solo, figured it out by ear."

Perhaps you should learn to observe better before calling yourself, "observationman".

  • hey, is this eletric?

  • I read music, tab, and have been playing by EAR mostly all my life. However, sometimes you just cant find it, and need to SEE it. I'm 56 years old. Been there done that. But thanks anyway.

  • I want to see the left hand , not the picking.

  • i want to see people using their ears to learn songs, not their eyes

  • Thats awful.

    You have a gift man.

    Share it.

  • That's what i do on guitar :)

  • @thekev506 Word! Good job.

  • @thekev506 Aren't you playing chords though?

  • @thekev506 Lucky for me i cant read sheet music =)

  • hey, great job!

is there any chance you have the tabs?

  • Wow that's cool!

Is it hard to play banjo?

  • This is awsome. Is it possible to get these tabs from you or do you now where i can get them?

  • Possible to get these tabs??

    Great banjo Cover.

  • MG my man tu es trop fort!!!

  • I instantly love this.

  • allez paris saint germain :-)

  • Ahk, I threw together a generic crappy note pattern that's barely good enough so you can recognize the song lmao, I'd love to have yours. =P

  • Oh man, you're awesome!!!!!! Thanks so much for putting this video on here. First video I've seen of someone playing it good. My teacher gave me the chords but I think with this video I can collaborate my chords with the notes. Cheers! :]
