It absolutely defies logic to say that increased gov't spending, especially in such a large amount, can decrease the budget deficit. You have to cut spending to save money. Or you have to invest in a wise fashion so that you get a return on your money that is more than you invested. Only about 9% of this package goes to actually create gov't funded jobs which cost hundreds of thousands just to create, so we only lose money in the end.
How can you measure if 3.5 million jobs are saved? It's certainly possible to say that a certain number of jobs were created between two points in time, but you cannot say that you are going to save a certain number of jobs.

First of all it's not that simple. Corporations use what ever justification possible to exert their private tyranny over a population. If it's not high taxes, it's the requirement that they pay their workers a fair living wage & benefits.
The solution is actually pretty simple to all of this. Completely eliminate the Federal Income Tax on average wage & salary earners in this Country. The Federal income Tax, in reality, only applies to corporate gains. It's interesting that the percentage of the revenues that the FIT produces for the Treasury has gone up over the years for average wage-salary earners, and gone down for corporations. Only about 40% of U.S. corporations and foreign corps doing business here actually pay the FIT.

It absolutely defies logic to say that increased gov't spending, especially in such a large amount, can decrease the budget deficit. You have to cut spending to save money. Or you have to invest in a wise fashion so that you get a return on your money that is more than you invested. Only about 9% of this package goes to actually create gov't funded jobs which cost hundreds of thousands just to create, so we only lose money in the end.

No part of the situation we're in is a surprise. Many saw it coming with the abuse of credit at the consumer and corporate levels. If you have personal debt or illegitimately collect government assistance, you're just as guilty as the CEOs robbing from their companies and eventually, the country. Changing the government, punishing the corporations and creating temporary jobs is not even close to the solution. People need to take responsibility and live within their means or this will continue.

The only real jobs in this so called stimulus bill is for road construction. No one that has been laid off from Microsoft or some other business is going to go for the road construction jobs DUH. As for that line of work the fix is already in to give those job to those in that line of work DUH. Oh and lets not forget it's the ILLEGAL ALIENS that will be taking a lot of those jobs. First of all it's not that simple. Corporations use what ever justification possible to exert their private tyranny over a population. If it's not high taxes, it's the requirement that they pay their workers a fair living wage & benefits.

The solution is actually pretty simple to all of this. Completely eliminate the Federal Income Tax on average wage & salary earners in this Country. The Federal income Tax, in reality, only applies to corporate gains. It's interesting that the percentage of the revenues that the FIT produces for the Treasury has gone up over the years for average wage-salary earners, and gone down for corporations. Only about 40% of U.S. corporations and foreign corps doing business here actually pay the FIT.

Funny that the GOP didn't advocate either anti-Fed or anti-FIT positions in the 2007-2008 presidential campaign. So, that's a patently false statement. And anti-Fed / anti-FIT arguments aren't CTs, they're simply arguments against perversions of the Constitution. The Fed was created by Act rather than Amendment, and the FIT anti-13th Amendment.

Noooo, more like "thousandaires." The top 50% were those individuals or couples filing jointly who earned $29,019 and up in 2003. (The top 1% earned $295,495-plus.) the top 1% pays 35-40% of the taxes, however they get on average 73% of the income, so what they are being taxed is actually pretty decent.
The wealthiest 1 percent of the population earns more income today than the bottom 50 percent.
The top 1 percent own more wealth than the bottom 90 percent.
It makes a lot of sense to tax these people some more.

It's a dirty little secret that optimal employment in what's considered a "good" economy would see to it that 5.5% are unemployed.
What do you do with that 5.5%? Tell them it builds character to be destitute because government benefits for the unemployed have been cut because it was considered too much "pork."

Like I keep trying to convey to you, you can create a whole bunch of jobs but that doesn't say anything about job quality.
