in around 2002 i did security on this site and remember why it is so run down.
basicly it was owned by a foreign bloke called keitan who did very thing he could to run the place into the mud. when it whent bust he legged it with the money and the receivers said half of it was still profitable but the rovax part was knacked ,as it was just worn out and falling down. there was a management buy out which saved it for a while .they renamed the company cpc. chemicals. but could not save it.
Brings back memories. I worked there in the labs in the late 80s. The admin block also had the laboratories. The labs faced the railway lines and groundfloor was the QC labs with the R&D on the 1st floor.
It was in what I presume was the admin block. The brickwork around it looked freshly moved and there were magazines / paperwork around it that were still dry. The plastic casette was very badly damaged and melted but the tape itself was just dirty.
