Although no longer an Alabama fan, I can honestly say that Shula was a credit to UAT. Why he would ever come back to UAT would be beyond my level of comprehension. That is fact. Just like when Bill Curry recruited most of the team that won the 1992 Title for UAT when Stallings was the coach. Shula is a great man. But he never would have been a legitimate prospect for the job if it wasn't for Price getting fired right before spring practice. He was a desperate hire for a program in a desperate situation, and it just didn't work out. I wish him all the best, and still wish it would have worked out better for him at Bama.

Shula is the reason Bama is the #1 team in the nation now. He kept the ship afloat when the program was a mess. He never once had full scholarship and still recruited well. He had injuries and because of the lack of scholarhip the replacements where a big drop off. I will say it thank you Coach Shula you saved the program and took the Fall for it, but now because of your hard work Bama is back on top!
