It's been 2 month and you probably either don't care for flash anymore or you figured it out, but you need to make sure your button is actually a button symbol. When you right clicked and hit convert to symbol, it's my guess that you did check the correct box...

God, people actually don't know how to make buttons? All you need is onRelease(); , gotoAndStop(); , and stop(); , not a video!

just change gotoAndStop with gotoAndPlay.

just make a back icon, convert it to a button symblol, and do the same thing, but instead of gotoandplay, put gotoandstop. Make sure you put the scene as it going back to what ever scene you want to go back to. Hope this helps.

I have added music to a menu, but when I push the button it, it go's to a certain frame. That's okay. The problem is the music from the menu keeps playing during the scene. How can I stop it?

im not sure about this, cuz i dont have flash, but maybe you would do stop music in action script, just like you would do stop frame X (X is 1 2 3 and so on)
