(jjaayypp's wife) Man, I love your video right from the begining. Very good. I'm 1/2 Cherokee Indian myself. My Father-in- Law and I are going to bild a tipi in our back yard soon. Good Day! (Lynn)
@giles2a We could, I suppose, but I never suggested that would be a good idea.
The fact remains that burning wood is extremely energy inefficient and releases a lot of carbon. We're better off relying on the power grid and searching for efficient and clean fuels.
@DSXmachine U ARE SO WRONG......TRYING TO FIND CLEAN ENERGY IS CONTRIBUTING TO MORE POLLUTION..... @thiizzman510 you realize the trash from taking houses down to give the plains back, the trees that would have to be cut down to convert for tipi poles. Everyone has a hand in polution, not mainly whites, mainly humans period. if you look at people who live in the woods they are at war with nature, slash and burn to have a meager crop. i do agree its good to know the old skills but humanity cannot make an instant conversion to the old way of life. with laws too, we couldnt hunt to feed everyone
@thiizzman510 Racism is not going to help. Industry and greed are the problem and have affected all nature loving and living people. Ever hear of the Druids? Don't play the race game, it sucks.
@DSXmachine Fire has been on earth since it formed and is completely natural, it is ridiculous to say that fire is not 'environmentally friendly'.. If you burned car tires and garbage that would not be 'environmentally friendly'. Burning wood from a well managed source has no negative effect on the environment whatsoever. Four elements- Earth, Water, Air, and Fire.
@Cytacon Regardless of your "Earth, Air, Fire, and Water" belief system, burning plant material releases carbon into the atmosphere. Plants act as a carbon sink, and when you burn plant material you release it into the air. The best place for wood is buried in the ground where it can be recycled as fertilizer.
@DSXmachine Have you ever heard of the carbon cycle?. Maybe you should do a little research, you don't seem to know what you are talking about. Oh and btw, "Earth, Air, Fire, and Water" is not my belief system, they are the four main classical elements, essential for life on earth.
@Cytacon Yes, I've heard of the carbon cycle, and we have a problem with it. There's too much going into the atmosphere and not enough coming out of it.
Why are you being so obtuse? Any goddamn idiot can see that burning wood is not a good idea.
@DSXmachine Of course you would have to subscribe to the belief that Co2 is as harmful as it is portrayed to conclude that burning wood is a bad idea. That aside, if a wood source is well managed by coppicing and re-plantation even those who subscribe to the idea that Co2 is the main factor behind climate change (climate is not static btw, it changed dramatically on a regular basis pre industry) should not have a problem with burning wood as it is a renewable resource that constantly replaces.
@DSXmachine Is that the best you can come up with, seriously?. You have no debating skills whatsoever, you are a brainwashed moron who doesn't know what he is talking about.
@Cytacon You're trying to argue that burning wood is a good idea. How fucking stupid does that make you? Honest to god, get a goddamn brain you fucking asshat.
@DSXmachine More of the same from you. You can't argue your point like an adult. Maybe you are not an adult. Regardless, you fail at debate. *goes off to burn some wood*
@Cytacon That's because there is no basis for this "debate" whatsoever. You're trying to argue that pumping carbon into the atmosphere is a *good* thing. You may as well be arguing that lead paint is nutritious.
@Cytacon IM CONFUSED.......HOW COULD U NOT BELIVE IN EARTH WIND WATER FIRE??????ARE U FROM THIS PLANET.......IYS IS THE ONLY RELIGION THAT SHOULD BE ACEPTED ON PLANET EARTH......SAYING U DONT BELIVE IN THESE THINGS MAKES U LIKE AN ALIEN TO THIS PLANET.......HOW CAN U NOT BELIVE IN THE THINGS YOU KNOW U NEED FOR LIFE ON EARTH......IF U BELIVE IN ANY OTHER RELIGION BUT EARTH ....U ARE BRAINWASHED AND U ARE CANCEROUS TO EARTH......EARTH AIR WATER FIRE ARE ONLY THING A REAL MAN REALLY NEED

So you are a welfare receipient. You receive it through your children. Yeah, lots of people here in the US do that too, they're called jobless unwed mothers.
ALL parents in the UK receive welfare? How is that?
liefwildwood@mkmason2002 I did say ALL parentsin UK receive Child Benefit (irrespective of income) Of course there is no need to believe me if you're unable to.
When you say "you" do you mean "they"? I don't live in Tipi Valley, and I didn't tell you I have children. The Prime Minister of UK recives Child Benefit - ask him! (address 10 Downing St, London SW1) I have a feeling that you really want to see the people of Tipi Valley as welfare scroungers. Sorry friend, you'd be wrong if you did.
hey folks -i like to go camping to but i have obligations to people in "the world" -i apreciate anyone who has knowledge on what to grow -how to harvest -ways to cook and ways to preserve -any food naturally -same with hunting and fishing and manufacturing your own wares -these are age old skills that should never be lost -ive been jobless and homeless in a big city -for months before -im a tribalist cherokee indian -and i respect the land -but i hunt to to survive -less stress=long life.
New Hampshire and Nevada were the last two states on earth where there was no property tax and it was possible for someone to live off their own land and not use money.
This Christmas Eve morning, however, the federal government mandated that everyone have enough money to buy health insurance. Land-livers couldn't have legal children anyway because for 10 years every legal child has been forced to attend federal reeducation camps until age 18 or document their parents educate them in lockstep.
yeah i've been to teepee valey in 94 and i spontaneously bought a teepee from "tipi jack"since that day i live in my teepee, in the forest in switzerland i hope my health continues,
so i can go on,to live my life in the best way! thank you tipi valley
It's cool, but it's totally unsustainable. these people have either state support or privte money. I still approve 100%, but this is elitist and middle class.
The ongoing global financial onslaught is making more people rethink their true values. This lifestyle will gain traction in the near future if not simply for survival sake.
Nature seems to have still yet undefined mechanics with which to bring the people full circle.
It's an efficient type of house, a tipi--the design holds heat in very well. The only thing is, I don't think the original design accounts for how wet and soaked Wales is in comparison to the Great Plains. Good they're using yurts now.
Well yeah, I went there in the 80's and what sticks in my mind is a young lad who'd been born into the "close to nature' situation of his parents choice and I said "What d'you want to do when you grow up?" and he says "I want to live in a house."
The way tipis are designed makes them great for holding in heat. You don't freeze because all the heat that would normally rise is forced downward by the conical shape.
I love my Crow Teepee, and put it up every summer. Living in one year round as the Plains Indians of America did, is no picnic nor camping adventure. It's always nice to be able to buy that Ceylon Tea from the local store and heat the water over a propane flame!
Salut tepee valley!
Oh dear! Singing a song addressed to Mother Earth is not the same thing as worshipping her! The basic tenet of Christianity, forgiveness,is pretty sound, but I am ever amazed at the absolute bollocks that so many Christians come out with.I'll put my faith in the reality of the enspirited universe and its constant becoming.. in the beginning was the word but the word was/is a spoken, living thing not some dry symbol on a page, translated and then filtered by the politics of the Roman church.
lol you are a terrorista! like all of your ilk,. so afraid to embrace life that you live only for death,., leave the deathcult of religion, and embrace all of the earth and its people,. love will set you free, not fear of "the wrath of Dog",. lol
A Very beautiful place indeed, I think they are doing a marvelous thing living so simply in a peaceful setting. I would still rather be in thankfulness and praying to Almighty God in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ though and not sing to mother earth who is not a deity but a human created invention like gaia. Mother earth is deaf because she is not a person. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1 Truth is better.
reply to podlife59- "earth who is not a deity but a human created invention" what? are you on crack? man did not 'invent' earth,. lol,. you are so silly and backwards,. 'jesus' and 'the invisible man in the sky' are human inventions,. not the earth that gave life to us,. you belive in lies that conrol you! wake up!!!

Joh 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Wow,. what fear-mongering! I belive in the SUN,. the SUN I can see,. your christian myth system is thinly vailed SUN worship any how,. watch; zeitgeist the movie,. leave the dogma behind and embrace universal love,. it is the only way forward. Not the idol worship that christianity has become,. jebus and his mom and the pope and all the rest are worshiped as idols,. silly!

Rom 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them.
Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
bla bla bla gogally goop,. you have no mind of your own, just quotes from the book you worship as an idol! Is idolitry not a sin? people like you are the ones that give religion a bad name, . endlessly spouting of chapter and verse,. you make a book of myth writen by men into your god,. is sad. The universe is so much more.

There is no way of escaping the wrath of God but by the Lord Jesus Christ, so those who will not believe must go to eternity "as they are," and bear alone all that God may choose to inflict. Yet thousands choose to remain in this state, and to encounter alone all that is terrible in the wrath of Almighty God, rather than come to Jesus, who has borne their sins in his own body on the tree, and who is willing to bless them with the peace, and purity, and joy of immortal life.
im just waiting for ur chreistian rapture-coz can you imagine the wonderful world we are going to have when all the narrow minded haters hiding behind their religion get sucked up into their heaven---just imagine what we can accomplish when that lot have fucked off...
if i was a horrid cynic i could say that all 3 of the abrahamic religions are based on a book that was written a a political justification for the invasion of other ppls land(ie the philistines) and have nothing to do with spitituality at all, and that everyone following them is deluded--

The way tipis are designed makes them great for holding in heat. You don't freeze because all the heat that would normally rise is forced downward by the conical shape.

.. how can you find similar communities in your neighbourhood if you live in a busy town? You just have no contact at all...

This sounds amazing, though you probably would freeze your butt off in winter. Still, makes me want to have a Teepee.
Osmun79 3 years ago

Yet thousands choose to remain in this state, and to encounter alone all that is terrible in the wrath of Almighty God, rather than come to Jesus, who has borne their sins in his own body on the tree, and who is willing to bless them with the peace, and purity, and joy of immortal life.

if i was a horrid cynic i could say that all 3 of the abrahamic religions are based on a book that was written a a political justification for the invasion of other ppls land(ie the philistines) and have nothing to do with spitituality at all, and that everyone following them is deluded--
if I was a horrid cynic I might say that...

Actually, you sound almost like a horrid cynic, but not really close enough to it to spout off about you being one quite yet.
