  • poor thing..

  • i feel bad for her

  • Why are those people getting so close to her?

  • @Chrispotpie21

We are trying to help her. Our volunteer cleaned and treated her wound and helped her with medicine, food, water etc..

  • @Chrispotpie21 YEA, HER LEPROSY IS NOT CONTAGIOUS... ONLY AT CERTAIN TIMES AND BY DROPLETS OF A SNEEZE, COUGH. I THINK. BUT HER BURN WONT HURT THEM AT ALL !!

  • saraca

  • I'm sorry but if I got even close to being that bad with any disease I'm offing myself. People like this need a bullet in the head, not medicine. There is no way in hell that I would live like that and no one else should either.

  • @tooch1180

These people are end stage lepers. We treated them so that they are no longer infectious to others. Then we helped them with medicine and food so they can live out their lives in dignity.

  • is this kinda something like the plague?

  • Our society did help her. We cleaned her wound and helped her manage it. We helped her with nourishment. We brought medicine for her and others. Beside the medicine for curing leprosy, we also brought medicine for controlling infection etc.

  • @DamienTheLeper Thanks for your love to them... So happy to see that our Lord let her to meet you... Thank you. I will pray for this missionary! Let us love our neighbors in need!

  • i really 'truly hope that God exhists and we have a pallpable sense of Justice in the afterlife other than that we've been duped but i hope not...I sincerely hope this woman gets proper help ;God Help Her....please

  • @poulsontheprick

  • @DamienTheLeper much love ! thanks to Damien The Leper Society ! Helping others is important !

  • Really shocking "christian" comments here. Cowardly use of human suffering as an ill-thought religious platform. There are many ways to help fight leprosy, for those that really care to instead of spouting religous rhetoric.

  • @zekeland

Our society primary and ONLY interest is helping to ease the suffering and to cure the leper. We are not attempting to use this as a religious platform, ill-thought or otherwise. Yes there are many ways to help fight leprosy. We are doing the best we can.

  • The most misery of this disease is damaged human dignity. so as every other illness. Hansen disease signifies this point.

  • Let's stick to the original meaning and use of the word leper! Biblical use was meant to show that white skin was a decease unto the Most High. Hot grease didn't cause leperosy in the bible. So dark skin wasn't the curse but white skin was! Let's be real about this whole thing.

  • ROTTING WHILE THEY BREATHE, DEATH COMES SLOW - Chuck Schuldiner, Death

  • Is this contagious ? I'm just wondering.

  • The reason this person has this problem has nothing to do with god. I still cant believe some people believe in that rubbish!!! What kind of person would believe a magic man is floating around solving everyones problems

  • the bible says that leprosy is a skin disease that causes a person to lose pigmentation such as vitiligo and hansens disease.

  • What a terrible situation, while these poor people have the will to live, many others just waste their lives on drugs...

  • Should the term "leper" even be used? I consider that deragatory. It's a bit like people who still use the word "indian" to describe natives. This seems uptight, but we are now in the 21st century. I know that I wouldn't want to be called a leper! She's a person, she is more than what has been inflicted upon her.

  • No. Just f*cking NO!!! Stay away from her, or it'll be YOU next

  • This isn't the dark ages. I think he knows what he's dealing with.

  • It's leprosy, not AIDS, dude. Wow. Read up on a disease before you start saying stuff. Seriously. =/

  • Um... but you don't even get AIDS by being next to someone. Unless you're being sarcastic.

  • Yeah, I'm referring to the equally-absurd stigma that AIDS is, also, proximity based ... which is just as ridiculous as thinking one can get leprosy the same way. Sorry for the mix-up.

  • Oh love. Poor poor soul. Bless her

  • the worst thing is that there are still colonies where lepra people must go to

and that the medicine isnt that high in price but it is for those people

    sorry of my bad english

  • umm... wheres her toes?

  • gone.. I heard leprosy starts with a wound, gets bigger until it kinda turns the part of your body like bread that's slowly kind of ruts...then yeah, you lose it

  • on tour

  • the reporters suck.... they need to learn to control their verbal reactions....

  • Yeah, who are these people?

  • Respectfully, How many people pray to God to cure them of illness. And a cure never comes. I think spreading the word is good but when you say stuff like "repent and ask God to cure you. That is giving them false hope. They believe what you are saying is true so they do that and than when no cure comes that's when the backs turn to God. Next time try saying he MIGHT help a cure come to you.

  • Indeed. I would in fact say that if god exists he would probably do this on purpose because there are too many humans on earth.

But hey, what if there is a placebo effect? :)

  • Unless she has leprosy, she isn't a leper.

  • She has leprosy. The injury came from her falling into a fire in her own kitchen.

  • this is so sad...I hope...

  • When you preach God's word in a communist country you have to preach mostly by deeds FIRST. Yes these people do pray to God.

  • @Spectrumusik if only it was that easy

  • @mirrorseye Is easy to preach, the part hard to handle is the hating, specially when you tell people in order to show repentance you got to keep the commandments. Im talking about the old law which was never put aside in the first place.

  • @Spectrumusik you are pathetic. I'd rather have leprosy than listen to you.

  • @zekeland why then you even bother replying to a 2 year comment..get a life..and if you know of a solution do something about otherwise shut up...

  • @Spectrumusik I do something, I don't judge and preach. why do you bother to reply to my reply?

  • @Spectrumusik the kingdom of heaven will be taken by storm.......

  • @poulsontheprick Hmmm america will be taken away by nukes fire, oil spill well the list goes on

  • redpaul,

These people have the will to live and are fighting for their lives. They live in wretched conditions but live HONORABLY. Can you say the same about yourself?

    Lyken,

Yes it is contagious but is curable. The cure takes a while and is painful. That's why the action of the people who came to help them are absolutely admirable.

  • isnt leprosy contagious?
