Paul, I reached the same conclusion you bring up here about 6 months ago. In fact I approached a couple of my lecturers as I hope to do my phd in history on these social attitudes and how they have been inherited from past cultures such as the romans. Hopefully I'll be lucky enough to actually do my post grad work on this.

This next part is not your problem, but stated only for contrast - when someone says "be a woman" the mind goes blank. Most of my wife's friends are single because they either have outrageous standards or either talk about about how independent they are. To compare legalized prostitution with legalized abortion is not a valid analogy.
Legalized prostitution provides safety for all involved. The men don't have to worry about the prostitute pulling a knife on them and vise a versa, as there is a security system in place.
Also the the practice of safe sex in enforced and it is mandatory that the women must be tested for STD's on a regular basis.

Paul, you're a Godsend and definitely "A VOICE FOR MEN" (whether they realize it or not). As you say many wake-up to find themselves "wandering blindly from a battlefield on which they never knew they stood" (that's my story). Please ignore the ugly feminist and pussy-whipped comments. Keep in mind everyone that this is the opinion of Paul Elam and is not neccesarily the views of all within the Mens Movement. I for one often disagree with this man and his 'poetic' explanations, conclusions and hopes. Neither do we all agree with his views on men as a gender.

By all means. Although having been at this a while, it was never my impression that the men in this movement were so weak minded that they required such an obvious disclaimer or "guidance" from following their own inclinations.
I am sure you have sobered many a good man up. :)

Well, what you believe is your choice of course and that you believe as you do concerning my motives for saying what I said, is also your choice. You are lucky to be so smart. Many others are not as smart as you are. Or as eloqent. However, you might have been smarter. Both Paul and others COULD have asked WHY I said what I said before you passed judgement. Thaty however, would have taken a degree of humility. Right?

Why should I have to ask you "why" when you have the clear opportunity to state your case from the beginning? If you don't want to be misunderstood, don't make comments that you know need to be clarified to be understood. Or is it a lack of humility in you that assumes everyone must ask you why you say what you say before they infer any meaning to it?

That happens to me a lot. What I usually do is cancel the share option and try again in a few minutes. Sometimes I have to do it a few times to get the image to pop in. But once I have posted one to my page as a link, even if I remove it, I have never been able to get it to post correctly after that.

Paul, I reached the same conclusion you bring up here about 6 months ago. In fact I approached a couple of my lecturers as I hope to do my phd in history on these social attitudes and how they have been inherited from past cultures such as the romans. Hopefully I'll be lucky enough to actually do my post grad work on this.

Excellent video Paul; I agree with almost all of it. One part perhaps I don't understand - if someone says "be a man" a concept will form. This next part is not your problem, but stated only for contrast - when someone says "be a woman" the mind goes blank. The man concept that is formed is different from the dismissed, distrusted message that is too often displayed.
Doesn't the "be a man" concept of strength and reasonableness count for anything?

Honestly only if you don't expect strength or reason from women. I think those are human concepts that we have assigned to sex, first out of necessity, and later out of habituation.
I think the future relationship between men and women absolutely depends on humanizing traits rather than sexual proscription. The reason no current concept forms in the minds of women when we say "be a woman" is because they have a range of options to define it for themselves.
And so now the time for men.

I don't have traditional masculinity,I have no desire to protect women maybe children. But I can protect my self,I think a man should stand up for whats right. And be a thinker & a fighter! And have a good sense of right & wrong!

@crypter27 i cosign with your point of view 100%. I have been with my wife for 7 yrs and we recently have gotten married. and are about to give birth to our first child. Most of my wife's friends are single because they either have outrageous standards or either talk about about how independent they are. There are some things that my wife does in which her friends don't approve of, but its funny to me that these same friends ask how we are able to maintain our relationship marriage.

@crypter27 To answer their question. I think the reason why our relationship/marriage has been successful is because 1. We are a team. We don't not view our marriage as a business. It is not is not based on materials and superficiality. 2.Also our relationship is not based on intimacy alone. We dont not believe in portraying traditional roles which is why i don't view my wife as just my wife. I view my wife as my best friend and more importantly my equal.
