  • What a beautiful tribute to Syd. RIP

  • simply putting it this song is like links me to driving around the shores of England on a dark cold day and looking at the beauty of it.

  • Touching!

  • I never thought I'd see the day! Chills down my spine with pride!!!

  • I have no words!!!! Wonderful....starting from the idea of playing Emily with chimes. Incredible the result; I can't imagine how difficult it was the realisation of this job....

    Again, a beautiful result.

    Ciao from Italy!!!!

  • the church bells playing classic pink floyd song wow its cool play like that

  • How truly beautiful !

  • @Bolliebaby5 Glad you liked it. A lot of people has difficulties to hear the original song and the beauty of it.

  • Amazing!!! I live in a sub. of NJ and all the church bells are fake/recordings.. I love Syd, and have a great ear and this is perfection : )

  • Wow... what an honour to be played on the chimes of a cathedral tower for a whole town to hear! <3 <3 <3

  • @stophiemeister Indeed, Syd Barrett was a true artist and the carillonneur has done a great job to transpose this rocksong to a piece that could be played on the chimes.

  • @Paulus002 I'll say he's done a good job :)

This is my favourite song <3 Thank you for sharing it on youtube :D

  • @Paulus002 Especially Syd's very 'idiosyncratic' songs!

  • Amazing!!!

  • @Dan5482 A carrillon is a very difficult instrument. The mechanism is rude and the bells do not have the key that we know from the popular music. So you are right it is amazing.

  • Absolute unique recording of this legendary PF/Syd Barrett hit recorded in a medieval setting at Utrecht! Play Loud on Sunday Mornings!!

    Great Paul, greatings Pim

  • This video is recorded in Utrecht Holland at September 30 2006. What you see is the view from the cathedral tower, "De Dom" and what you hear are the chimes playing "See Emily Play", the second single released by Pink Floyd and written by Sid Barrett.

This performance was dedicated to Syd Barrett, who died two months earlier at 7 July, and initiated by a couple of Pink Floyd fans.

Without Syd Barrett there would never have been a group like Pink Floyd.

    Enjoy this.

  • Look for "Arnold Layne" on YouTube for more details about the way this music is created.
