So basically she is re-enforcing her son to be a little bitch. The second time he started crying was just to whine and be picked up. Look at the smile on his face when she did. The baby girl on the other hand will most likely grow up to be outgoing and secure in herself. She's already doing so. Slap a pink dress on the boy and call it a day.
Yes, infants and toddlers get these opportunities without RIE parenting. Many parents and child care professionals understand the value of self-directed learning for babies. My opinion about lessons is to wait for the child to initiate interest. Then you know for certain that the child is 1) ready to actively participate 2) doing it out of true interest rather than to please the parent. 3) likely to continue to stay tuned-in to his intrinsic desires. 3) Not going to waste his time or your money.
Don;t toddlers get this even without rie parenting. parents are not always there instructing . alot of toddlers spent alot of belly time doing whatever they want. Whats the next step in rie techniques ? when is it ok to instruct a child to play piano or how to hit a tennis ball , at some point instruction has to come into play - what age does it become appropriate ?
