Definitely agree that NOTHING beats the ORIGINAL!! No doubt DBSK did a great job, probably better than anyone else who would have attempted it. I think H.O.T. performed it best during their 4th concert, where they wore their costumes fromt the mv. I miss H.O.T. they are such an inspration, most definitely to DBSK, and I bet they were so honoured to perform this song!
I don't think anyone CAN or SHOULD compare H.O.T. and DBSK. They're two different groups, they have their own music and you guys have to respect them for that.
DBSK won't be able to give the same appeal to H.O.T. songs as H.O.T. will, obviously. H.O.T. wouldn't be able to give the same appeal to DBSK songs either. But they can still attempt because they are two talented groups, and they can still make their performances well. So don't compare them because you won't get anything out of it.

Hm...I don't really like to compare the two groups. But honestly speaking, nobody could ever take the place of H.O.T in my heart. They are forever the best and their songs could and would only be the best if it was performed by them.
H.O.T is more passionate and more expressive in their music the DBSK so that is why their still alengend after 10 years or so. Hee Jun's voice is so unique that no one can imtate it extactly

Both H.O.T and DBSK are two diferent group, with diferent strenghts, while yunho and micky might be able to do a little rapping they can't do it as well as H.O.T why, DBSK is an acapella group, while H.O.T focuses more on Rapping and dancing.
And H.O.T can sing live very well, but they dance a lot which makes it difucult to sing live and DBSK lip syncs sometimes too. Both groups are good on diferent levels and lets keep it at that.

I know I've seen H.O.T. lip sync before, but after watching this performance I have no idea why they would want to lip sync, there really good singing live.
it is really hard to dance while singing, most of h.o.t's song have difficult dance moves in it...it is much more comfortable to lip sync than singing live.

The albums that are considered their best will all made by them. So if ur going to question which one tops them off I'd say H.O.T. And until dbsg gets rid of their we're dangling by lee soo man's strings image, they will never surpass H.O.T.

i think HOT had more emotions in this song than dbsk did. dbsk only emphasized anger, passion & power. but for whether who sings better theres no answer. cuz both groups have parts where theyre better than the other. mostly, it depends on that 1 singer. like at 8:04-8:21 u gotta admit Changmin sang tht better cuz Changmin is the ONLY PERSON ON EARTH who can sing like that. he has a unique voice it's not like he's "better" or anything rite?

we all know HOT can sing really well but in some cases dbsk can sing better cuz of either that specific part of the song & how it suits the singer's voice or the capabilities of that singer. so i think comparing singers/groups is not reasonable. both have their own goods & bads.

but they got most of the credit because they are the "first" popular korean boy band, because they are the first group to own "fan color", and we respect that.

Both H.O.T and DBSK are two diferent group, with diferent strenghts, while yunho and micky might be able to do a little rapping they can't do it as well as H.O.T why, DBSK is an acapella group, while H.O.T focuses more on Rapping and dancing.

And H.O.T can sing live very well, but they dance a lot which makes it difucult to sing live and DBSK lip syncs sometimes too. Both groups are good on diferent levels and lets keep it at that.

For the dbsk vs.HOT debate, of course HOT will sing this song better since it's their own song.
But that's not too say DBSK sucks, it's just harder to put as much emotion into something that's not your own. DBSK and HOT are good in their own ways.

it is really hard to dance while singing, most of h.o.t's song have difficult dance moves in it...it is much more comfortable to lip sync than singing live.

DBSK was giving tribute to H.O.T, who ironically are their IDOLS! they were not trying to do better than them, they tried to make the song their own, some say they succeeded, some say they don't. it's all a matter of opinion.

H.O.T. will forever be legends and I dont think that any groups after them will be as famous... yes DBSK is big but H.O.T. had alot of fans in other countries too... back when they were sill together. They are both good groups.

ya although DBSK is famous, I don't think their fanbase is bigger than H.O.T.'s. All of DBSK's albums combined haven't even reached the million mark yet. H.O.T's fans in China are probably half or more of DBSK's fans worldwide

my opinion. dbsk sounds better live than h.o.t. Jae sounds better than kangta. and the rest of the dbsk members sound better than h.o.t. when i first heard this song and then, dbsk's version, i thought jaejoong's voice was deeper and better but kangta's is off tune.

To evachan4106: The only way DBSK sounds better in the I Yah perf. is because they weren't ever singing it live. They recored it first & then performed with it. H.O.T will always do a better job at perf. I Yah because they put a lot of energy & passion into the song & perf.

I like dbsk. Sorry H.O.T fans, I do think they were a great group, but oddly, Im just so in love with dbsk. I like their music and stuff. Anyways, why do we compare? Its frustrating how ppl are comparing the past and to present. HOT were legends in the past, but the group no longer exists. DBSK is a group that still exists and are legends in the current generation.

i dunno why I'm putting my two cents in but i guess I will anyway. Yes, the two of them have a lot of similarities but there is one thing that H.O.T. has managed to do that made them surpass all the other boybands: their ability to create. The albums that are considered their best will all made by them. So if ur going to question which one tops them off I'd say H.O.T. And until dbsg gets rid of their we're dangling by lee soo man's strings image, they will never surpass H.O.T.

There's a big difference between the two bands. It's not fair to either side to compare & contrast.
DBSK's version was a tribute. Obviously it has a different emotion that H.O.T's, which was a dedication to the children.
DBSK's was also pre-recorded. Try listening to the version on the CD by H.O.T before you say that their singing "sucks" or vice-versa.
IMO, I will always pick H.O.T, but I'm not putting down DBSK's performance. They did a good job with their TRIBUTE, not an imitation.
