Never was knight more chivalrous than Dharam in this film. I believe his portrayal reminiscent of Connery in his pomp. Masculine stereotypes pervaded global cinema during the 1970's, making his portrayal impressive, by virtue of its lack of egocentricity: Languishing with love, he sought to be worthy of Pallavi, rather than affording her token status. Dharam & Zeenat gave superbly humane portrayals, while enabling the suspension of belief, kudos to all & sundry for an unabashed magnum opus.
