@shoa31 the bombings where not done out of vengeance, allied command was desperate to prevent operation downfall from happening. It was predicted that operation downfall would cost 1.4 million more allied lives from August to December, not to mention the number of Japanese the battle would kill that was predicted to be in the range of 5-50 million depending how many civilians fought.
@shoa31 The war had gone on for years, and our econamy was bankrupt, the war had to end. If you're seriously holding a grudge over things like Pearl Harbor and Batten then your childish, and if your twisting the atomic bombing into some sort of vengeance attack then your just twisted..
@XxxSakura101 I'm not holding any grudge at all. I support Japan and do not speak against the Japanese. I enjoy the tough love Japanese culture and love Japanese almost everything. I was just saying that for the atrocities the Imperial Army caused to China and the Allies was asking for the war to end in the worst way. I understand that Japan needed land and resources, but bombing the shit out of Shanghai and raping their women was going about it the wrong way.
Very interesting documentary. But i would appreciate it very much if at least you could have put an english sub-title for us to understand what the narrator is saying. But great job though...
That last bit about confirming it was Midway and not Hawaii by transmitting a "pidgeon" American message from Midway and uncoding the resulting Japanese message is one not covered in the many history books on this subject. Brilliant!
