I'm a teen and even I liked this book. I loved it actually. It really opened my eyes espeacially the chapter about being a lukewarm christian. It helped me make myself a stronger christian and get so much closer to God. Thank you so so much for writing this book Francis.
i see on here that someone said that drinking is ok with friends but what if someone was watching you to see how you live your life and they see you drinking even if you dont get drunk. it then becomes a stumbling block to that person or anyone that may have seen you drinking. its better to stay away from it completely. wine was the only thing they could drink back then because the water would have been contaminated.
Ya I gues drinking is not bad as most agree. For me is different, I was a drunk and a party anymal. I never want to hold a beer in my hand or a glass of any liquor, because after I left that life and came to Christ I was convicted by the spirit no to do certain things and of them was getting drunk. After a while I found that I hate the taste of alcohol and for 9 years I havent had a drink at all. In my case I dont care for drinking not only because I dont like the taste but dont need it at all
I found Jesus in Jail, Along with this special book and found it as a sign that I have been given a second chance in Life and I have also found a New Relationship with the Lord. Thanks Francis for your Words of Inpiration.
This book is a life changer I have so much more faith now and I myself have found a more intimate and loving relationship in the king of all glory. Try it out!
Nucklehed it doesnt say anywhere in the Bible "Do Not Drink". It says dont be a drunkard, in other words dont get drunk. There is a difference between drinking and getting drunk. Its honorable if you do not drink, but by no means in just drinking a beer or glass of wine a sin. Jesus drank wine and was sinless.
NuckleHed03- Jesus' first miracle was turning water in wine. He was at a wedding feast where the wine was flowing. People were drinking. What makes you assume he wasn't? God's word says we shouldn't get drunk with wine, which leads to debauchery. Alcohol, caffeine, tv and food can all be used in negative ways and all highly addicting. Should we refrain from watching tv, eating food, coffee and the occasional glass of red wine? We shouldn't if it causes a brother to stumble. Thoughts?
Actually, it's ok to drink, but not in excess. It's ok to drink in celebration, but not to get drunk or to intentionally change your mental state. Jesus turned the washing water into wine for the wedding party who were celebrating, do you think Jesus would have contributed to sin? What I love about this book is the idea of reading the bible for yourself and really finding out about God for what the book says, and not what we are taught... Hope this helps
when i asked my youth pastor that same question about drinking, he said that in the bible Jesus changed water into wine for a wedding, so drinking is not wrong all together, but it becomes wrong when u get drunk and start to do unholy things, that is when drinking becomes a sin. It is ok to drink with friends, but when you get drunk that is when Jesus said it is wrong. Hope this helped.
He sees that the Church has a problem with religion, and in this book he attempts to use other than grace to deal with it. Be careful there is a subtle poison pill in the middle of some truth. Be thoughtful and listen for it and try not to swallow.
I like the approach Francis takes in presenting the Gospel here. I heard that he and his church distributed some 30,000 copies of this video to each member of their community!

Why Did You Say "Don't Drink to Much"? I was taught to believe and personally believe that drinking is wrong all together.

What if what you were taught was based on some man's personal preference and not what God actually tells us? If so, would you want to know about it?
