Have a look at the Marvel Ultimate comics, the artists there made Nick Fury A black guy, and modeled him after Samuel L Jackson which was why he was asked to play the part

listen dude, they are basing this film off of the Ultimates graphic novel which is set on the Ultimate universe of Marvel. in that world, Nick Fury is black and they even asked samuel L jackson if they could model the character after him when they first made the Ultimate Marvel continuity back in 2000. come on man.

@thetemsito No, not because the movie. Marvel's Ultimate Universe comic line rewrote Marvel history & in it Nick Fury is a black man. The artist started drawing him to look like Samel Jacksons. Sam being a comic book fan was cool with it & it stuck as the idea look of the character.

In this version of the Ultimates, Nick Fury is "Black"! They asked permisson of Samuel Jackson to use his likeness to be Nick Fury!
