Reading some of the comments below I can't help but laugh that someone says football players aren't athletic I play both and I can honestly say I would happily have chris Johnson or Adrian Peterson on my rugby team, and someone said about getting your head to the side watch videos by Tom bass one of the most rebound football anaylists he says bite what you tackle, mate you don't know more than a guy who's coached pro for more than 30 years
@INSULINxJUNKIE Good, obviously helmets are used because you're incapable of tackling properly. If you have your head in the correct position as I described, you will not hurt yourself. If you tackle as shown in the video, you are taking an unnecessary risk that only an idiot or poorly trained athlete would take. Both 40 yard dash and 100m sprint times are indicators of speed, I don't understand your problem with that.
@fitzyuc There is a reason American football teams dominate any out of country team. and this is the reason right her folks... fundamentals. pure fundamentals.
@INSULINxJUNKIE Hah, you didn't address a single point I made, that's funny. Also, it's called American football for a reason, you guys are basically the only ones who play it, you shouldn't lose at all to an out of country team. Thank you for proving yourself a dumbass.
@fitzyuc but your arguing about an american football thing! and since we are practicly the only ones that play it we would know how to play it! you just proved me right dumbass
@INSULINxJUNKIE Wow, seriously? Because I don't play grid iron you think I don't know how to tackle? You're funny. Wrong, but funny. Watch NRL or Super 15 some time, you'll see just how wrong you are.
@fitzyuc Yes, seriously. Watch the NFL some time to see how wrong you are. The players in the NFL are stronger faster and bigger than in the NRL and super 15. and that is how they tackle. maybe Americans are just more Hardcore than you?
@INSULINxJUNKIE Stronger, faster and bigger. bahahahah oh you make me laugh. Picture Terrence Cody; if a player that unfit, with that level of athleticism can make it to the top level of your sport, your sport is pretty bad. Not only do you guys get a break every tackle, but you also get a break every time possession changes too. Even then you still need two teams because you're not fit enough to play a whole game. NFL is full of the poorest excuses for 'athletes' I've ever seen.
@fitzyuc Hahahaha austraila doesnt make the size or strength that American does and you get a break becuz on every play there is an avg of 8 hits on the field. name one rugby player that is 6' 5" 353 pounds and can run a 4.9 40 yard dash. yeah poor excuse of an athlete right there. rugby is over rated for contact. its more about speed than size or strengh
@whdunkley789 I have never played football and yet I still know how to tackle better than this defensive coach does. If you don't care about getting knocked out, you are an idiot. You can make just as an effective tackle without risking a broken neck or a concussion, ask me how. Even if players aren't running that fast, at any level the risk is too high, and too stupid to take. You have no idea what you are talking about.
. Let me ask you this where do you think the tackler should put his head? If he keeps it straight he breaks his neck on impact. Thats why you put your head to the outside of the ball. You know what that means? When your making an angle tackle your head should be facing the ball. Just as this coach said. It doesn't matter how you "think" It would happen since you don't play. I am dealing with actualitiies and this is how every actual coache teaches players to tackle.
@whdunkley789 In this instance, he should be tackling with his left shoulder. That is the proper way to tackle without taking unnecessary, stupid risks. I play rugby, I know how to tackle. I feel bad for you if that's how your coach says you should tackle.
@whdunkley789 Are you seriously that dumb that you cant see similarities between the two sports? Your ignorance is incredible. Oh wait, I know what it is, typical american footballer ego, cant admit that I'm right.
@fitzyuc .... There is no similarities between football and rugby tackles. Rugby is fast paced. You don't have the time to really lay into someone. Rugby is more of tossing someone to the ground. In football they wear pads and helmets. On first contact you are trying to put the dude on his butt. You don't need to worry about getting up and finding the ball. Or anything else accept laying out the RB therefore no there is no similarities.
@fitzyuc If he would tackle with his left shoulder he couldn't use the power of the whole body. He would use the power of only his left arm. Such tackle is easy to break.
@arturlasko Are you serious? If you can't put power into that tackle with your left shoulder then you need to learn how to tackle properly with both shoulders. Also, when the defender in that situation uses their inside shoulder it is leaving a great opportunity for the attacker to step back inside with ease.
@sexytwin69 You can do whatever you want no matter if you go to lamont stanford community college or goegetown. I know plenty of goergetown graduates who are working at day-cares ( I live in washington DC). College degrees are becoming worthless.
@sexytwin69 Yea, the world record for 50 yard dash is 5.15 seconds... Get on my level, kid. If you meant 40 yard dash time that's still slow, just about every NFL lineman runs a 4.55-4.65.
PLEASE...!!! type in "TRAIN EM UP ACADEMY" on the youtube search bar,.... if your a mother or a father wanting to teach there childeren the basic techniuqe's on how to "TAKE" on a "TACKLE' "PROPERLY" theN that's the vid for you... ( don't kno who this guy is trying too fool) ...and also with reduecing HEAD,NECK and SPINAL injuries..... "NO JOKES NO GIMMICKS" only the real deal...
The first tackle was wrong you never come at someone head first thats a rookie mistake either youll get a flag or over time youll have so many head injuries your brain wont be able to count
