I think its funny when the bass player missed his note at 2:04. That's why Jim got that look and looked over there. I wonder what he said to him afterwards. LOL
mom went to be with the lord this last saturday night i will miss her but Jesus is opening up big doors in my life to be in the singing ministry i know i may be crying on stage so they may nickname me cry boy but crying means humbleness
i have a passion for Christ and a compassion to see lost souls saved that rapture is soon and alot of work to do to bring in the harvest please keep me in prayer
IN LOVEING MEMORY OF MY MOMMA EVELYN LOUISE BAKER. 3-28-2010. I LOVE AND MISS YOU MORE THAN EVER. CANT WAIT TIL THE DAY WHEN I SEE YOU AGAIN. LOVE YOU ALWAYS
@BassSingerNC I have you in my prayers tonight as I received this message. God is our only hope and what a hope it is to know we will see our loved ones in Heaven someday. I'm so sorry for your brokenheart. May God mend it for you. Gwen Weaver
I feel very blessed to say this describes my Mama, Nanny and Granny....my Daddy and Grandaddy too..We all used to say that when they decided to take on something in prayer ... the outcome was never in doubt.....They have all passed on but I know as hard as they prayed for me growing up they are at it even louder now. I wish everyone could know that peace and power in their lives....Its the best thing we could ever ask for..
This song makes me think of my grandmother. She prayed so hard for us. I used to not understand why in the middle of the night i would hear her crying and praying, but believe me when i tell you that now i understand! Thank you Grandma, i love you and miss you so mcuch!!!
Thanks for posting this beautiful song. U have some wonderful songs and videos on your site. I love Southern Gospel Music. I give U 5 *****. May God Bless U always and I will check out some of your other videos. I know I am going to enjoy all of them.
In my opinion these are the best years of The Kingsmen as well. Their technique is unique and powerful. They really made you feel the depth and meaning of a song. I love them. I would like to know what the current lineup is though or if there is one.
When I was 6 years old, Ed came to my church in West Union, Oh, where I now preach and he sang. My favorite song was always "When Mamma Prayed." I have several of his old cd's. I sure do miss seeing him. I use to see him every year at the church. He is a wonderful man.
Oh my gosh! I've been looking for this lineup for a while. Thanks for posting! I LOVE Big Ed Crawford! Although he looks like a Ken prototype doll or a weatherman.
I agree with this group of guys being the best ever. I used to work for a promoter here in Florida and we used to book the Kingsmen here all the time. I have to say though that the best tenor they ever had was Ernie Phillips. He was amazing!!!! I love these guys, and Ray and i are still friends, i'm just glad he carried on the Kingsmen!!!! They still bless me just as much as back then!!!
Too funny! As a bass player, has anyone else heard the bass player make a mistake at 2:05. Thats the reason for Jim's look back. Too Funny! What a great video!!
This particular group of Kingsmen singers was the Best ever in my opinion. I love that steel guitar behind Big Ed as he sings that solo with everything he had! Kinda makes you want to stand up shout right along with him! Speaking of Mr. Hamill's facial expression at 2:01 whats even better is at 2:04 when the bass player hit the wrong note on the walk up....Hehehe Jim's look is kinda like "Now boys yall have played this a thousand times don't mess up now!" Hehe......Best SG group Ever, No doubt!
This video is just awesome and wonderful. I never knew the Kingsmen had a reunion. This was just great to see and also to see Anthony Burger. Sure hope you can post somemore.

No one could replace Johnny, though Ernie was close, But Shephard? I don't think he quite measures up, he's got the worst falsetto I ever heard.

Also, the smile on Hamill's face at 2:01 is just priceless. It just shows the joy they were having that night.
