  • they use them cause they were such great actors and they spent all their free time with a singing coach and i think they sound amazing considering how they started =] just wanted to give everyone some info about the actors =]

  • wow i read so many negative comments i was in this play so i know all the main characters and i will tell u that everyone worked so hard on the play. our school isnt that rich we also have a small stage and everything we had to get/make our self. as for Tevye if u knew him u would know that he was one of our great actors at our school along with all the other leads none except a few had signing experience but since they were perfect for the part and no one else tried out who could sing.

  • lol for our show we almost used those very same masks but you couldnt hear anyone

  • just screeching.

  • What is she singing???? I'm fruma sarah in my high school production and she isn't singing any of the notes!

  • We just did this musical in my school. I played Chava in it...the girl who played Fruma Sarah was amazing...even the people on stage were scared of her!

  • i agree with motorolablackQ Sarah cant really sing lol but for a high school performance its pretty good.....

  • umm it's a musical...not a screamical, for the person playing fruma sarah

  • She's supposed to sound like that, I think.

  • hmmm....Grandma's not really a singer....but this isn't to bad for high school, and that Fruma Sarah would scare me in a dream!!!

  • @SwedishChef13 she's supposed to sound terrible.

  • I get to be Fruma Sarah in my schools prodution and it tis the most fun role you can have!

  • I totally saw this show! You all did an excellent job!

  • hmm i didnt care for this too much

  • AMAZING!

  • It was good, the only thing I didn't like about it was that half the time it sounded like Grandma Tzietel was saying 'the tailor Motol Kamfoil'.

Our high school's doing this at the beginning of december, I hope it works out as good =)

  • This is a really high standard and it is a high school production! excellent! ignore any negative comments, these people obviously dont realise how difficult it is to cast a show from a school. And this talk about tuning and pitch? videos of stage productions rarely have the correct balance between the band and the performer, they may have sounded pitch perfect in the theatre? Well Done! Loved Grandma Tzietel's entrance!

  • not as good*

  • i played granmda tzietel and this is alright...no one does the correct accent. golde is pretty good besides that, but tevye is definitely as good as mine. and i dont like how they portrayed the the other dead people when fruma cam out. and fruma, is not singing, that is just yelling.

  • People are so cruel here. The guy who plays Tevye is incredible! Especailly with his "If I were a Rich Man" song.

  • Our Lazar Wolfe played his own dead wife Fruma Sarah (In Drag)! He was hoisted up on a cherry lift (with a skirt to hide the mechanics) almost 30 feet in the air! They paused the song due to the laughing and he got a standing ovation at the end! Boy, did he have to shower/change for the wedding scene fast!!!

  • Your Tevye sucks.

  • um, wow ur fruma sarah has a really bad, voice, she screams all of it!!

  • Hey Bobby! This is Victoria William's little sister ,Charlotte .[:

I watched the play at the high school & it was so fuckin good .

Ryan was great ! lol So yea,the people talking shit have no idea what they're saying haha .(:

  • I don't understand why you cut out all the high notes throughout the entire musical. I am trying to watch to get ideas for our show and its pretty disappointing. The part where you whispered Fruma Sarah cause it was high ruined the intensity of the moment.

  • I completely agree with this

  • we did fiddler on the roof

    and we also did masks

but our fruma sara was way more convincing

sorry no offence i mean she was great

  • I actually adored the concept of the masks. Its very inovative.

We're having Fruuma Sarah emerge from inside the bed (the sheets will drape over her)

  • I agree we are having her fly in from the cat walk though its really cool how we are doing it

  • ha, lucky

in our version, we're just having her walk on stage. the girl who's doing it is amazing, but still... i wish we'd do something cool like you guys

  • Its cool...

This is one of the greatest renditions of Fiddler ever its great who played Tevea he is amazing!

P.S. we stole you're idea of masks sorry it was great!

  • Lol he'd be amazing if he sung in tune :)

  • His acting makes up for it

  • Yeh actingwise is pretty good

some pitch training would be good too tho

  • Erm all the characters are meant to be on stage :S

Hence "everybody we know was there"

It's terrible to put it mildly.

  • wow you guys were way off. Why the masks? But the song is cool. Im in this musical. We are doing it way differnt. I dont go to this school. Your guy's stage is really small.. sorry.

  • sheesh Fruma Sara is such a mad ghost

  • I don't think the mask was a bad idea at all.

I think it's a good opportunity to be able to bring all the characters on stage (Like Hodel, Tzeitel, Chava, etc, etc..) without the audience knowing they're on.

  • Eeh... Tevye's a better actor than a singer. Golde was good, as was Fruma Sarah. The ensemble needs A LOT more work, though. The masks didn't work in this instance. Sorry. Tevye-learn to keep time and in the same key as everyone else!!!

  • ummm where is the rabbi? not liking this one. doesn't measure up to the original, or ours.. but as you can't see ours, we didn't record coz of rights, i'm not going to compare it, because ou can't judge it. don't like them asks. nice bed though

  • Dude this was amazing I didn't see it live but what they did with the static movement and acting was great!!!!!!

  • that was a pretty big cast, but even so, you guys didn't do a very good job with it. keep practicing.

  • yea okay so frumah flew in, but it wasnt very menacing. oh well

  • this wasnt too bad at all...I guess...tevye was pretty good, but gramma tzietle was less than good...not to mention I was kinda hoping the ghosts would have flown like we did!!

  • hey tevye... how about we learn to match pitch

  • this wasnt very good.i just recently saw fiddler on the roof at a theatrical center in Madisonville KY and this part was better there.not a good choice to use masks.

  • i agree, masks are a bad idea..

terrible singing, and tevye, if you are using an accent use it the whole time..

    all around BAD..

  • THis is really bad considering what ive seen in ameture shows and i have seen 5 production oof fiddler in the ameture ranks this is crap! the masks are a bad idea and old grandma tzitle was bad as well as fruma sarah im sorry

  • Does anyone know where I can find the full Fiddler on the Roof movie on YouTube?

  • not impressed by any of the singing. there is no scooping in the 1800's. learn to stay in time.

  • this is an awsome play...im in it as lazar wolf.....but this particular one needs some work!

  • im in this as grandma tzietle. the tailor motle kam zoil!

  • lol awesome. My scholl msde it filled with smoke it was cool lol

  • And I know wats bad and whats not seeing as ive just done fiddler with national youth music theatre of england.

There is so much wrong with this it's incredible.

  • that has got to be the most shocking performance ive seen of this lol tevye needs some singing lessons and everyone needs to learn that anatevka didnt have american accents. Fruma Sarah can't sing.

  • If you want to see a really good dream, look up mountain view's production vid's. I'll post them as soon as the dvd is done.

  • by shs i mean shrewsbury its in Massachusetts. our frumah sarah has a 25 ft wooden tree she climbs up, its like a watch tower and shes wrapped up in it so all you can see is her arms coming out of it and her head and all the her rags and huge necklaces of pearls and spikes and branches and stuff. and we have a full cast of jewish women dancers who are dead dancing at her feet and around her like worshiping. We have really strong vocals at our school, performance is this week, msg me 4 the vid

  • this is awful. no one can sing. the blocking and choreography is horrible. topol is cringing in his grave.

  • I agree, the grandma sounds AWFUl... =S

  • I dnt think Topol is dead yet but if he was..... He would be cringing :)

  • this is really boring.. and the singing is bad... the grandma doesnt even sound old... wtf?

  • wow

my school is doing the musical this year

and i am very proud to say i am doing it at shs and not this school

  • By SHS do you mean Sherburn High School? if so I'm in the band for that =D

  • Once again.... go search MRHS Fiddler. and click on the Dream.

  • buahhahah

    we're doing the junior version

but we don't cut any songs

    i'm golde =D

  • this is the main reason i wish i DIDN'T do the junior version.

i love this scene, it has so much potential.

  • i give i 2 F's...

    funny freaky

  • This is such an awesome scene with Grandma Tzeitel,Tevye,Goldie, and Fruma Sarah,It's also a scary scen for little children.

  • the grama sounds congested and prounounced kamzoil wrong. its supopsed to be prounounced "CALM-zoil"

  • my school did this play this year as well and I was grandma tzeitel! It was awesome!

  • AHAHA best part of the musical!
