atleast giacomin and gilbert earned their spots in the hall of fame, unlike clark gillies. how does clark gillies make it the hall of fame but glenn anderson and dino ciccarelli are not? also saying that gilbert and giacomin's numbers should not be retired is outright obsurd. i guess boston should have never retired ray bourque and cam neely's numbers then, the same can be said for ron francis with carolina/hartford and brett hull and al macinnis with st.louis.

Mike Bossy lasted 10 years in a league that was actually a hockey league that had fighting, hitting(a-lot of it dirty). The Broadstreet Bullies, the Big Bad Bruins, Tiger Williams etc. He took his lumps and kept going, which makes him 100000X tougher than nearly every hockey player in this current NHL. He also was a complete player, he backchecked, forechecked and he did it to much larger players consistantly.

And that is your lesson for today.
