nice job. when you ask them what is the differance between mormons and main stream christans they always bring up the fact that they have a living prophet. hook, line and sinker. next ask them if they know what are prophecies or do they understand what a prophecy is. let them know its to tell of future events. and what does God say about prophets? they have to be 100% acruate. none of the lds prophets have ever passed this test. JER 28:9, EZEK 33:33,DEUT 18:12 joe smith failed big time.
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (July 17), Isaiah 44:6-8 was our Old Testament Lesson for today. We also could have read Wisdom 12:13, 16-19.
The institute teacher wouldn't interpret it that way? That's because Mormonism isn't clear. Josephs winding road of evolving doctrines cannot be trusted.
We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity, I will refuse that idea, and take away the veil, so you may see. Joseph Smith 1844. Yes he wanted to change God views!!
That is a classic case of twisting. Pin them down and they twist because deep inside they don't want to admit that Smith changed his views on God and did the same to mormonism. In this case I would trust the BOM over the D&C. Clearly the BOM doesn't match the D&C in it's view of who and what God is. Sad. Let's just dump it all and go back to the Bible. It's more than enough.
here are the cold hard facts. joseph smith was revealed the book of mormon and the whole mormon revelation by a fallen angel who called himself "moroni". joseph smith said that moroni was "a being of light". the bible warns that in 2 Cor 11:14-15 "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
Wait was that guy seriously admitting that the Book of Mormon was wrong in that Joseph Smith was still gaining "revelation" after he "translated" the Book of Mormon? He does realize that in saying that he admitted that the Book of Mormon is only partially true, written by Joseph Smith, and therefore implying that Mormonism is false right.

For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
