you know you could have just used the compass sensor, since it detects the earth's magnetic pole.

I am not sure I understand what you mean? The magnetic sensor can detect the presents of a magnet - it has nothing to do with a compass sensor or the earth's magnetic field

im sayin that the compass sensor that you can get for the NXT, well since the compass sensor can detect earth's Magnetic field, then it could detect your magnets that u were holding up in the video

yea its a compass senor it tells if the robot is facing north, south, and so on.
