she does a really good job of hiding her Australian accent most of the time, and she did really well in this!

Her performance in "To Die For" is still her best screen work to date. She won the Broadcast & Boston Film Critics award for best actress, Golden Globe for Best Actress (Musical or Comedy) and received a BAFTA nomination. However she did not get a SAG nomination, and had to deal with strong competition- the final 5 Oscar nominees for 1995 were- Susan Sarandon (winner), Elisabeth Shue, Sharon Stone, Meryl Streep and Emma Thompson. Kidman was robbed, and shouldve replaced Thompson.

I agree copletely, I have always loved this scene and remembered it fondly as one of my favorite all time scenes ever. I wonder why they didn't nominate her? ANythoughts? I also LOVED Laura LInney in her drug crazed scene in Man of the Year with Robin Williams. This is another brilliant scene meriting ocscar or at least something...
