  • Where did you get the images from 0:25 , 1:21 , 2:01 and 2:11 ??

  • I adore this piece of music, it gets into my soul. Beautiful.

  • Great classic pieces can also be apart of an epic theme song!!

  • good song for playing doom 3 to

  • Una de las obras más bellas que he oído jamás.

  • Rob Dougan´s Clubbed to Death brought me here. (@ 0:59 )

  • xD matrix (clubbed) is one of the related videos. go figure.

  • @feveroo7 lol, when i was playing this, i was like "wait. matrix. wait. enigma." xD enigmatrix~

  • Unbelievably beautiful and mystique...

  • Very nicely done!

  • I like the pictures! very pictorial ...

  • Last weekend I was lucky enough to get tickets to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and listen to these beautiful pieces. They also included the history behind each variation. Wonderful music.

The Matrix is also excellent. :)

  • Il cifrario Dorabella, ecco questa musica.

  • These variations are the reason Elgar is famous.

  • I knew this sounded familiar! Parts of it was used in "Clubbed to Death". Happy I stumbled across this cause it sounds really nice ^^

  • Each Movement, one friend...Ysobel, Troyte, Nimrod...and others , Sir Edward Elgar was, no doubt, the greatest English-born composer.

Thank you for your talent, The30YearOldVirgin!

  • @MrGunterguerrero

Elgar is first class without a doubt, but don't forget Byrd, Tallis, Gibbons, Bull and others...

  • @jnamadeus Yes, of course.

  • @MrGunterguerrero actually not, all of the variations were made for friends, but most of them were.

  • a little edward elgar, a little fuck yeah

  • epic

    !

  • rob dugan isnt original.....dare he find a classic and rob it

  • @bandguyz24 He might not have been completely original, but he did take a classic and introduced it to a larger audience. More people will appreciate this more because they heard it in "Clubbed to Death." I know people who would not have even heard of this piece if it wasn't for Rob Dougan. Appreciation for classical music is dying, man, and it is people like him and John Williams that could save it.

  • Performed this magnificent piece a few times, thank you so much for posting with such beautiful pictures!

  • Where is the picture in 1:28 from (the one with the storm and a dark person with an umbrella.) Can i get you to send that picture to me or point me to a place where i can download it? (Thanks for uploading your videos btw, i like them. Music is great and the pictures are great too.)

  • sounds familiar...

  • snowboard kids!

  • it was used in Matrix. Thats not ignorance.. thats good ear.

  • @aretusa24 The Matrix version's by Rob Dougan and essentially just has a big beat over it

  • @smong87 Really the only part I hear in "Clubbed to Death" is the opening string ensemble of this Orchestation.

  • I think parts of this movement was used in The Matrix song "Clubbed to Death."

    Listen. You'll hear it.

  • Your %100 right. Took the words right outta my mouth. Only I think 'clubbed to death' doesn't only take parts from this peice - I think its a complete remake

  • I know! I was like, "IT'S FROM CLUBBED TO DEATH!!!!" when I heard a university band play it at my high school today

  • @sbatou87 It was. It's confirmed on Wikipedia

  • @sbatou87

You absolute Legend. I have literally been looking for that piece for YEARS (Not non stop obviously). I remember hearing it years back and just thinking "Omg, what is the name of the remix >.>' I was beginning to doubt that it was even this piece in the remix. Lol anyway, nice one

  • @sbatou87 The theme was used. g minor! amazing!

  • @sbatou87 Def. Matrix music is based on this.

  • @sbatou87 noticed that too

  • @sbatou87 yes you are right. clubbed to death uses this song as a basis

  • @sbatou87 you are absolutely right, I noticed the same today in a class and came home to get out of my doubt.

  • @sbatou87 Yes, I hear it. It seems to be enigma's Main theme. Nice job pointing that out!

  • the main theme is such a nobel expression of solitude and deep desperation.

I am not familiar with the whole enigma variations, but the ones presented here are true masterpieces

  • I think Scatman John's rapping is very under rated.

  • finally somebody has the courage to say it

  • I think we need to agree that this is actually rap with no lyrics. What I'm really wondering is whether Elgar has what it takes to be a garage MC.

  • nice photos

  • Edward Elgar is my favourite composer. He generally wrote for brass bands. Listen to Nimrod played by Willebroek! Awesome imo!

  • Your point is?

  • black rappers/hip hop sing about absolute crap

  • I'm with you. But wierd, look at all the opposition we get even here! People, please, we have been enlightened. Please don't equate the beauty of music like Elgar's with rap. Somebody tell me this isn't what you're doing....please? If so I fear that western civilization is in its twilight....

  • We're playing this in orchestra this semester; it should be interesting. Thanks for posting!

  • mm played this last year :P so awesome it has very nice tempo changes between variations so it keeps you on your feet while playing it ^^ good luck

  • Bob Dylan. A great poet/lyricist.

By the way this piece is absolutely beautiful.

  • Stop listening to rap on the radio and quit being a close-minded person; I used to hate rap because that's what I thought it was all about, but I was wrong.

I can find you songs with lyrics about things like losing your dad, sunny days, (regretfully) failing your daughter, the innocence of young love, or an unglorified alcoholic.

  • What kind of lyrics are the good ones? Because i´ve heared A LOT of rap music a time ago, and i surely preffer poetry. In fact, if you just read a rap lyric, you get sooooo bored. And the worst thing is that they talk as if they were appart from the society and they are just the same as all.

  • a beautiful piece of music - loved it forever -thanks for the gorgeous images with it.

  • hey 30, great video, how about we meet up and discuss it further? It could end your 30 year drought? xx

Clubbed to Death (kurayamino mix) by Rob Dougan

    pretty neato.

  • Well, actually it's big beat.
