  • a joke the jews don't like will destroy your career... TYT knows better, & went to its knees.

  • Also look up hitler's Paragraph 175’...Jew's were not the only people affected by the holocaust...I don't find the comment to be offensive. instead i just view it as a stupid remark

  • @rweghg3 exacly , But i Let David Irving explain .....

    /watch?v=9Aq485-WwF4

  • Lars Von Trier has dealt with depression & mental issues for a good part of his life, that's not an excuse it's just a reason...But it's not like he was standing up on a soapbox & saying convert to my religion walk the way of righteousness or burn in hell...so in summation hitler was an evil cock smoking dick & Lars Von Trier is just a little strange but a completely harmless man...

  • you should NOT say this if you still want to make a career in hollywood. too many "elite" noses there...

  • Lars should not have said this, because it is not okay to make fun of something, that was really a terrible thing.

But true, it´s danish humor, we makes the funniest stuff out of the most terrrible stories ever

  • My Grandfather died in a Nazi Prisoner of War Camp ....... he got drunk one night and fell off the watch tower......that's sarcasm Lars

  • "There wasn't any sarkasm" Omg.

  • oh dear someone stop him

  • He say that he wish he were a jew.... then turned it into a bad joke about if he was german than he was in fact a nazi (insulting all germans there) baaad performance and he is to old for that kind of act

  • How could you not tell it was a joke?

"I wanted to be a Jew but I found out I was a Nazi"

How can you not laugh at that?!

  • Comment removed

  • Why should he have to insult everyone's intelligence by warning everyone that he's joking?! It's not his fault if people are too dumb to understand the joke and get offended. Come on, is it not profoundly and hilariously ironic to spend your whole life thinking your a Jew, then find out your biological father is a Nazi? It's black humor. Deal with it...

  • watch?v=Pyw5FG7du-M... see this

  • mel gibson was a director as well maybe we should not take him serious either..please stop while your behind

  • We danes have no limit what we can say or make fun about. Imagine that kind of freedom dear Americans. We also have a humor that has many layers and depending how sophisticated and sensitive you are, you will be able to understand the several meanings of a joke. American humor, with all due respect is primitive and only have 1 meaning and you spoil sarcasm and Irony, by warning people"it is Irony" after you told the joke. Moron jokes make people more stupid. It does not challenge the intellect

  • Don't get me wrong. I love America and your culture especially the true Freedom loving Patriots fighting for real freedom against New World Order. You guys were the most free people before you got attacked by the New World Order from all fronts. They made you obese, political correct(passive aggressive), brainwashed you via TV, dumped you down by "education" made you ill(bad quality of food", raped your economy" Federal reserve Banking. youtube" the American dream cartoon" TIME TO WAKE UP!

  • It's danish humour... danes use underplayed sarcasm and irony ALOT. And it is not well understood internationally. Lars von Trier got himself into a corner and he knew it.. and he admitted to being a nazi, not that he actually is, but to express that he KNEW that it sounded like that was what he was saying, but that he OFCOURSE not is.. :)

  • @jASTDK Lars von Trier has many mental issues and using danish humor is really not a good combination. I think he couldn't control him self. Yes we use Irony and sarcasm allot and we pretend we mean it because it will make it extra funny to say something totally out there with a serious attitude. If you dare to see the nr. 1 comedy movie from Denmark then you should find "clown the movie". Even I as a Dane think it was extreme because no taboos where left alone. An orgy of jokes with taboos.

  • @RadioIlluminaticom I'm danish.

  • @jASTDK Great, Danish humor is the words best! Well, only Danes understand our humor. (I made a joke right there. Danes are probably the only ones that gets it)

  • The danish humour differs a bit from the american,

  • @scanderbeg1465 : Don't tag people and stop pointing the finger with "holier than thou" attitude. If you can't get the joke he was TRYING to say don't bother posting your stupid generalizations. Go watch mickey mouse or something together with the retard hosts of TYT whos analysis is the definition of stupidity.

  • Publicity Stunt

  • I'm danish, and I can say with absolute certenty, that this expounding is wrong. They completely lack knowledge on Lars Von Trier as a person; we in Denmark sort og know him; we know he's a bit wacked, or seem that way at least.

If one study the aesthetics ideals of the "national-fetishism" and Hitlers visions, apart from all the evil. One will lern, that the dream was a reich with art and beauty, security and wealth, to a Germany in a time of great misery.

  • But the price for all this was the tragedy: the holocasut, and more. Every man knows this, but thouse who "understands" it disapproves of it just as much. And that is including Mr. Trier.

"To really understand Hitlers Nationalsocialism, one must understand Wagner"

The Reich was the führers artistik Masterpiece, just take a look at the banners and uniforms, while NOT thinking about the dreadful price, and the antisemitism.

  • @MartinGilmour yes your are also racists SOME of you so, Im sure allot of you guys can relate;) your kind of famous for that so it does not really surprise me at least.

  • @normansmother1 Totally agree. Well, don't forget WW2. It must never happen again. So many scars still, 65 years after. It will likely happen again, if we don't do a few things right. Stop population growth. Stop oil/coal-usage growth. Stop tax-paradises. Stop extreme ideologies, like communism, right wing republicans, facism, abrahamic religions, theocracies, dictatorships and those who do dealings with them. That would be a good start. Time to panic.

  • This is humor. Very playful, on-the-edge sarcastic humor. Typical in all Scandinavia. We live in so homogenous and educated societies that we are allowed use crazyminded rhetorical stunts like these. This time he stumbled, not taking in account the world audience's sensibility.

Who couldn't understand Hitler if they tried? You don't have to like the evil bastard to get a glimpse of understanding.

  • *sigh* hypocrytes, meant or not, to understand someone doesn't even have to mean you actually agree with them or their actions that come out of it.

It would even be scary to live in a world where people wouldn't understand dictators and therefore have absolutely no clue who they would put to power and just hope to rely on the invisible hand.

I mean, imagine what messed up world that would be!

  • C'mon man americans always take things so seriously, if you cant handle the danish humor then please shut up and think of something else!

  • I live in Denmark, most people here are pretty sarkastic.

  • By 2:10 I was yelling "STOP DIGGING!!" at the screen

  • very typical of the young turks to sympathize with this guy. militant against muslim discrimination but very 'meh' about jewish discrimination.

  • ok we all know holocaust ands nazis etc. but he didnt say he hate them, and because of the holocaust ,people don't have to like jewish people or have sympathy for jewish people.and when he was saying I'm a nazi,he was obviously joking, get over it people, lars is a great director.

  • acclaimed directors in the world, if not one of the most controversal.

  • universal condemnation hard, why wasn't there an uproar over Oliver Stone's doco series taking a nuanced look at Hitler, Stalin blokes like them, it's uncomfortable yes to say but Hitler, mass murdering tyrant that he was, did love his family, dogs and children, he wasn't a devil sticking babies on spikes, i think that is what Lars was going for. Anyway Lars' ban for Cannes is unfortunate but one day he will be back, despite this clusterfuck, Lars von Trier is still one of the most critically

  • An Empire magazine review called Lars Von Trier "Uncle Lars", quite apt since he does strike you as an uncle who says embarassing or outrageous things and your left face palming yourself. Lars clearly tried to tell a joke about his german heritage, it fell flat, crash and burn baby, but he's no anti semite. A goofy danish director with a bad sense of humor but no vitriol like bloody Karl Lagerfield. In regards to his content, if people find giving Hitler or Nazis anytime of sympathy rather than

  • wy is sayin that he is a nazy diferent from sayin hes a fan os bush!!!!

    hahaha

Americans need to learn a bit more of the art of IRONY and SARCASM!!!!

It´s so obvious that im makes me shiver!!! Even Kirsten Dunst is laughing her pants off!! "i can imagine him on he´s bunker???? thats hillarious!!!!!! DUH!!!!

  • He is talking about cultural roots, how he wishes to have come from a worn down people and how he could use that as a basis for his art. Instead his heritage is with the Nazis, but he has realized that even if they were assholes they still were people and one can empathise with any person as long as one properly tries.

Overall; I dont like von Trier, but he was not really saying anything bad about anyone.

  • Lars Von Trier is the best...

  • Waow these hosts suck. Nobody got the joke but I understand why. His English isn't good enough to perform such a joke. So next time Lars, just shut the **** up.

  • He's so clearly making a joke- in poor taste perhaps, but a joke nonetheless. Storm in a teacup time...

  • cenk your analysis makes no sense on this one

  • It's called bombing.

  • He should have just said I am German, but I was never a member of the Nazi Party and my father was cleared of all charges at Nuremberg, that would have lit them up like a roman candle.

  • the young turks are discussing the jew-nazi relationship... and the crimes against the humanity. someone should wake them up about their deeds and genocide against armenians at the beginning of the century. hypocrisy has no limits

  • @himakgam

Cenk has talk about the Armenian genocide before. He's no denier. Is he supposed to mention it every time the Nazi holocaust comes up?

  • Comment removed

  • danish humour, don't bother understanding. its a kind of it own

  • @coolfach I'm From Denmark are you a racist?

  • @RadioIlluminaticom I'm racey.

    Is that okay ???

    XD

  • @1Adr1an6 Danmark has the worlds free freedom of speech and we don't have political correctness and Danish humor often makes fun with taboos. Lars is not a racist. He tried to be funny in a danish play with taboo style, but it failed big time. Americans have become so passive aggressive because they hold back what they really feel and don't allow their aggressions out in the open. You have a problem being "racey" and that is why you are getting offended somehow. You are wonderful as you are!

  • @RadioIlluminaticom From where and what do you assume I am offended ???

  • @1Adr1an6 Then I was wrong. You are not offended. My mistake

  • @coolfach Just kidding! The Prime minister of Denmark has made a new law that makes it illegal for Danes to make jokes international, if we don't to warn people, we make jokes, because Americans don't understand our lame Danish humor. We use weird jokes that test the boarders of freedom of speech and how far we can go playing with taboos.

  • @coolfach trying to minimize a holocaust, a world war or racism is not funny at all. If that´s funny to you and your other 27 friends well consider yourselves nazis. Auf wiederhören!

  • @coolfach humor and Galliano? there is no joke here , thats a rising sentiment of the peoples aroud the world againt the zionist and the US Jew controlled Politicians, and the media of murdock`s zionisme and and Fox news pro-jew Misinformation. this are not the neo fascist stereotype, this are persons with education and knolege, about wath going on. Goldmansachs and the jew bankers that are destroing the world. it hapen before /watch?v=JnCCy0JpI_s

  • I see Lars is still doing his thing, as always. Sort of comforting, in a way. He does the whole "eccentric genius" routine quite well after all these years. Made some really good movies, and many outrageous statements. I guess I'm so used to it by now that I forgot how outrageous he can be, Kirsten certainly reminded me of that, felt kind of sorry for her sitting there looking lovely and obviously terribly uncomfortable. Wonder what he'll do to the press-conference of his next movie...

  • w w w . d e s t r o y h o l l y w o o d . t k

  • The language barrier is a very valid point though.

  • I agree with Cenk. Kirsten did the right thing by not jumping in. And damn I almost forgot how hot she is.

  • I've got a warped sense of humor, and enjoy darker comedy. Yet watching this guy continue to dig himself further into a hole made me cringe.

  • he didnt sound like he was joking because this is freaking danish humour and it was very well executed but these turks and the cannes festival guys who banned him just dont understand this goddamn i get so angry with that girl in this video shes just saying pure bullshit

  • @martinbladt13 In general, there is no such thing as Danish humour. Claiming that is just an attempt to excuse Lars. If you wish, call his behavior an act of irony or sarcasm. But guess what? The whole world understands irony and sarcasm. These are not characteristics specific to the Danes. But that's not what happened. When he was joking, he made it clear that he was joking - even though most jokes of that nature have an underlying element of raw sentiment to them. Stop excusing him.

  • @BBallertt When you make a joke with sarcasm implied you dont have to say: ok heres a joke coming up *tell joke*, thats what sarcasm is all about!!! Lars was obviously joking all the way through but as he saw that more and more people started to take what he said seriously then he had to remind them that it was a joke! and excuse me for reminding you that NO not everyone understands sarcasm in the world, and YES there is such a thing as danish humour as there is british, american, mexican, etc

  • @martinbladt13 No, bud. Sarcasm is universal. Everyone understands it. I don't mean every single person in the world, but people in general. Sure, there are nuances from region to region. But even with that, there is a level of common understanding. People can generally get a clear sense of it. But not so in this case. Are you telling me that everyone in that conference just didn't pick up on it with Lars? You can't be serious. Lars should focus on making movies, not tasteless humour.

  • The man is a provocateur, watch his movies, he's always pushing the limits of political correctness and double standards in society, he's always willing to show something ugly to get reactions, he always pushes for the underdogs and the victims in society, if you read between the lines you'll see that he's nowhere coming from a nazi POV. silly, yes, nazi, no, does it deserve a reaction, yes, which is what he got.

  • @h0b0ch1c If that's the case - then, why make movies? Become a political blogger. Become a satirist. The fact that his asinine conduct is getting more attention than his movie speaks volumes about the lack of interest that his movies garner. Unlike the way it is for actors, where they're required to speak for their characters, a director does not need to utter a word more than what his movie is about. Anything more, his work does the speaking for him.

    LVT is a jackass, period.

  • IT WAS A JOKE !!! "Nazi" is slang for "german" in Danish.

  • @AnarchistFuture Not true.

  • jesus christ - He is joking. Danish humor is special just like English humor. He is not a racist and he is not pro-Hitler.

btw please do something about the text. It doesn't make any sense.

And these two "journalists" are the biggest joke in history, I have never seen any journalist so dumb.

  • OMFG GROW UP PEOPLE IT WAS 65 YEARS AGO, GET OVER IT ! Geez....

  • @BrokenCurtain no! it comes from Stellan Skarsgård in a interwiev

  • There is nothing wrong with what he said. He was asked about the Nazi aesthetic in film. He is pointing out that he was raised believing he was a jew (true) and then learned as an adult that he was in fact fathered by a non-jewish german. Even after all his experience, he can find sympathy for Hitler as a man, albeit a bad man, who succumbed to dark impulses--he can see the same darkness in himself. Would Cannes ban Bruno Ganz for channeling Hitler too well? Banning Tier was despicable.

  • "That was also a joke."

  • TYT is low level propaganda funded by a Fortune 100 corporation intended for morons that live off welfare and suck off the system.

  • @jRedTree85 AMURICA HERP DERP

  • @jRedTree85 And let me guess, fox is a grass roots organization right?

  • @jRedTree85 Which one? And which one wants to support welfare and people sucking off the system? Could you define what low level propaganda refers to? Like site some other example?

  • @NavariteAzuth GE, and it's for people like you that don't know the difference between "site" and "cite".

  • @jRedTree85 Alright. lets see where to begin.

    1. OMG CONSPIRACY THEORIST! you people are adorable. bat shit insane, but adorable.

2 I'm an it professional with more years of in the field experience accessing sites rather than citing information. But I have a reasonable amount of knowledge when it comes to debate The correct term for your attack against my character is ad hominem, the lowest form of retort In a debate its a concession that you don't have supporting evidence on a claim. A defeat

  • @jRedTree85 Why do you not give your comment a number? I would suggest number 63. This way you will save yourself some writing. Your "Sucking the System" and "Welfare State" comes up ad nausea um. I am convinced you know shit all about a welfare state and what it entails. I.e. most likely a typical American who has never lived outside his own borders or studied History or Politics. This is what it takes to come up with stupidities like yours.

  • Banned for this ? ... I say worse thing's.

  • @exxalte Amazing, isn't it?

  • why is this show called the young turks? this guy looks pretty old!

  • If he was joking, that was the worst FAIL joke ever, unless you count the day we reelected George W Bush.

  • I just feel bad for this guy. It seems like he said something awkward, then tried to explain it, and then got himself into an even bigger mess. All because he tried to make a joke in a language he doesn't seem to have mastered enough. He should explain what he was trying to say in Danish and have it translated into English by a native speaker, then we'll understand what the hell he was trying to say.

  • @squreshi10 I am a native speaker. Von Trier said exactly what he said in Danish or in English. He might have used a special Danish way of speaking which can be quite "Tongue in cheek." However, I am not too sure of what he tried to say. There is a slight chance he meant what he said. However, I feel he used a typical Danish way of telling that he is different (better) than other people. I believe he felt he had the right to joke around because he is well known. Superiority complex, perhaps?

  • Von Trier needs remedial English classes

  • Danish humour is known for its satire. We call it 'sort humor' or translated, 'black humour'. Basically its common for us to lie on an extremely obvious way because it usually targets taboo-ish subjects. In this case, Lars failed due to the fact that his language barrier betrays his performance.

  • @iOnlyHaveThisForWoW Well, and often this so called "Black Humor" is just plain stupid. The Danes often use this trick to come out with something real stupid to shock other people. The "Shocker" hopes that the listener will will suddenly believe that the "Shocker" is different and special, which unfortunately, most often they are not. What the Shocker comes out with is more or less irrelevant since it is the effect they are looking for. To all Danes, do not use this trick in other countries.

  • von Trier does this all the time. I'll bet he has a list of controversial subjects, that he saves for for these situations. For those who don't know this guy, he does this all the time. He has no respect, and specializes in pissing people off

  • I understand von Trier and I sympathize with him

  • lars was quite clearly trying to create an hilariously uncomfortable atmosphere, you couldn't distinguish the sarcasm because it's a germanic accent, technically danish. what he said was "it turns out I'm a nazi", he was referin to the fact that he was brought up (as an athiest) beleiving his father was ulf trier, a jew (although not religious), it turns out his father was actually Fritz Hartmann, who lars seems to assume had nazi ancestors.

  • God, you two look so stupid. Evil, American CUNTS!!!!

  • he just doesnt know how to be funny...hes a loser

  • GUYS! He's danish! That is danish humor! He didn't mean it!

  • fucking lars von trier

goes from hanging bjork to calling himself a nazi

  • People say he was joking. I don't get the joke. What's so funny saying you're a nazi?

  • @poisionarrowclean Lars is known for being on anti-depressive drugs and being slightly manic at times. Also he likes being outrageous, and this "joke" was aimed at himself not the jews or anyone else. And saying your a Nazi is one of the biggest taboos, so to a provcateur thats interesting. I agree that it wasnt funny though, but also no reason for a ban - he did apologise for it!

  • @Stereotype23 Alright so it's just clumsy behavior then

  • Von Trier is trash; he's a pornographer, not a real film maker. He and those morons he inspired think it's revolutionary to include unstimulated sex n films and actually call them artistic rather than what they really are - smut, trash, porn, prostitution. Such is the degradation of morality since from 1960s. May his kind be visited with Auschwitz.

  • @famemonster1993 For Cannes to show "Stupid" movies there must be someone making "Smart" movies. Who are they?

  • @famemonster1993 Your nonsense barely warrant a reply. However, since you sympathize with Hitler you are excused. Before you write about who got killed in Iraq, read up on Iraq demography. What the Iraq war has got to do with Zionism is beyond me except, it tells me you know a word called "Zionism".

  • @famemonster1993 Don't wait dear friend. Iran Air has flights leaving for Tehran every day. I can put a word in for you,so that you are being properly received. They welcome people with your attitude.

  • You have to be able to realize what is a joke without someone sounding like he/she is making a joke. Also the Hitler myth is to big for it's own good. Hitler had the wrong ideas but was not crazy, that means anyone can have the same ideas, or at least understand it..Like Lars

  • that blonde lady right next to him looked like he was about beat his bitch ass

  • Surely the informal status of "persona non grata" would have been enough punishment for Lars Von Trier without the additional formal declaration? The banning of this individual is wholly unnecessary, when mere ridicule would have sufficed.

  • GERMANS DONT JOKE. They have no feel for sarcasm and are notorious in Europe for having NO sense of humor.

  • @billyrichardson2 Neither do you !

  • @billyrichardson2 Right. And then he isn't even German. OMG

  • Directors are always eccentric. Give the guy a break, he didn't say anything wrong.

  • my take is that von Trier was understanding of the bunker situation. About being a nazi, I guess he was saying that he found out ha had a german heritage and that his family might have been nazis. Then I think he just got nervous and tangeled himself.

And thirdly, about John Galliano (the fashion designer) the person who pressed the charges have even come out to say that HE didn't think Galliano ment his word at all. Galliano might have been angry, but you could smell sarcasm for milen anyway.

  • Trier is known for his periods of extreme depression and acute anxiety. Melancholia is very much about that feeling of collapse around you. The movie makes it clear from the very beginning that the world WILL end, there is no hope at all. I got the impression he was comparing his own anxiety - and that of the protagonist in the movie - with what he believes Hitler must have felt in his last days.

  • @BIasphemer Thanks for clarifying. That leaves no questions unanswered. Silly case closed.

  • I'm going to throw some context in here for you guys.

Trier has believed he was half jewish for many years and only recently found out he was half german instead. He bluntly pointed out the irony in this by saying he was a "nazi" instead of a "jew".

They were discussing his latest movie Melancholia, which is about the end of the world. He says he "understands Hitler" but goes on to clarify in what way by describing Hitlers last days in his bunkers, watching "his" world crumble around him.

  • @ BIasphemer:

Thanks. I would prefer the media all around to come up with some context, like the one you were just so kind to provide, instead of all jumping on the bandwagon of (seemingly for a noble reason) publicly slaughtering another well-known person. That´s just pitiful.

  • I might be wrong, but maybe Von Trier was trying to "play his audience" and well-known reflexes of association and guilt a bit, and got lost in it. If this would have been the case, the way he did it at least was pretty much a complete failure. In any case - it would have TOTALLY been wrong, had Kirsten Dunst "played it down": Better would have been, had she asked WHAT HE MEANT with what he said! It is a shame the world is so shallow and indifferent. No need, really to even add to that!

  • Mike Meyers was about as uncomfortable when Kanye was ranting about W.

  • nobody should get in trouble for their beliefs, crime is thinking + actions, there were no actions! go ahead and think about it all you want, as soon as you DO somthing its crime

  • This is a good example of Repressive Tolerance - humanity's next great obstacle.

  • I dont' think he's evfen joking. I understand why Hitler did what he did, I can agree with him in some cases (mostly regarding his love for technological improvement), but I don´t aprove that he murdered all those people. Understanding someone's ideas doesn't imply you aprove them.

  • European humor is generally more straightfaced and understated. Americans are used to jokes being told in an more obvious manner, by laying it on thick that you're telling a joke. Wink-wink, drumroll, PUNCHLINE!

  • @vzzzbx13 Well, the joke fell flat on it's face in Europe.

  • @vzzzbx13 your european are'nt you

  • White people living in a white society, marrying other white people, and having white kids, insuring the continuation of the white race?! Why, how racist.

  • Many people dont understand it, but he was not trying to make fun of Jews, but more of him self, Lars Von Trier Though he was of Jewish ancestry until he was in his mid 30 when his dying mother told him his real father was another man of German ancestry.

  • Hahahaha do you remember zat time vere my country exterminated 6 million innozent people? Heh good times...

    ....err zat vas a joke?

  • omg......so awkward....

  • Stupid danish wienerbroede hes a souless man, and his english is totaly crap.

  • It was a joke. Who cares. It was in poor taste, and bombed terribly. Too bad. He's an incredibly intelligent man, who seems like he's a bit awkward and inept socially. MY guess is he was trying to go for a couple shock laughs, trying to be funny, and failed miserably. The fact that they ban him from Canton is just ridiculous though, film festivals have been safe havens for things far worse than, even serious, Neo-Nazism, such as the petition that MetroNationalNews talked about.

  • @seanthedonconsidine you are so right .. he was trying to be funny, but it has never been his strong point .. he says his opinions out loud and sometimes when he translates his Danish to English, people get angry ..

  • he is joking... He´s crazy but not a nazi.

  • You agree with the ban?? That's what a nazi would do.

  • That was a joke ...even if is not where is the freedom of speech.

  • The jews in Denmark laugh about this. They know it's a pure joke. Are you people blind...didn't you see him when he was talking? It was so obvious that he was joking. To everyone who wasn't born yesterday it is quite obvious by the way he said it that it was a pure joke.

  • I think it's the language barrier....he was trying to show off his sense of humor and failed miserably...that's all

  • I love this guy. Pure genious. I have to point out though that Andy Kaufman was American.

One of the greatest directors today. Of course, Danish film industry is on top of the world right now. Small but great quality all around.

  • So who the fuck is this guy?

  • Who the hell is lars von trier?

  • Sounds like a joke that fell flat and wasn't told very well. If you are going to tell said joke, you better know your audience and you better have good timing, otherwise you will receive the backlash that Von Trier is getting. Plus Kirsten looks VERY uncomfortable when he was talking. At some point, could Kirsten nicely just tell him to shut the fuck up before he gets himself in a mess because he is burying himself, which is exactly what happened.

  • oh god. he just keeps on digging and digging.

  • He ... Was... Joking.

Anyone who is arguing that he isn't is an idiot. His English is terrible, which is why he fails at delivering it effectively.

  • This isn't the first time a dane has gotten in trouble for saying the wrong things.. (not necessarily meaning them) but yeah. They be failing -Finland

  • He is very disrespectful asshole who does not know when to shut the fuck up.

  • @SupaAmi

He wasn't uncomfortable for a second. But he realized he was surrounded by hypocratic wimps so he toned down the whole thing. Mainly it was a joke but the hypocratic americans can't phatom that.

  • He was definitely very uncomfortable. It's not that you can't make jokes about nazis, it's just that his jokes were just plain bad. He is not a comedian and should stick to doing what he does best, which is directing. Leave the comedy to people that are actually funny.

Also, you do realize this happened in Cannes? Which isn't in America. Most likely there were a lot of Europeans in the room, even some "vikings".

Also, the word you're looking for is "hypocritical"

  • @SupaAmi

You realize this channel is mainly directed to americans?? and run by americans??

And I wasn't looking for any word, not even a retard getting stuck on words thinking it matters in any way as a mean to attack the writer. the only thing you just did was to say: "Hi I am idiot!".

  • He shouldn't have been kicked out of the festival, what he said wasn't that bad and even if it was he still has the right to say it. Just focus on his movie you clowns.

  • "There was no sarcasm." You know it's rather hard to show some sarcasm if you have a language barrier.

  • I didn't understand anything he said. Really that was just a bad joke. Even he know it.

  • He said "I'm pro Jew", but "Israel is a pain in the ass". I think these are both acceptable because Israel is a racist state. I don't think he's a "Nazi" as in holocaust supporter. Maybe he just liked SOME of the policies of Hitler.

So I didn't see ANY anti-semitism, clearly or implied, in anything he said.

  • He was right about one thing, Israel is a real pain in the ass.
