Hollis Crew was on the album, it came out really early like with Sucker Mc's. "Here We Go" may have come out before King of Rock, but it sounds like that because it was live

RUN-DMC single handed, and officially put "old school" rap in the grave and obituary. Old school rappers were on that "yes, yes, y'all, to the beat y'all" style. But when they came out, everybody, I mean everybody were saying "yo, did hear about them rappers from Queens, RUN-DMC?". Going to John F. Kennedy H.S. in the Bronx in the early 80's, the cats were blasting this song on the # 1 train and did not care about Transit Police - that's how much imaginary power this song and RUN-DMC gave us.
DMC spit this Line-Getter of Girls, Master of Men, King of rock and I am Him..My friends analyze Rap lyrics and still to this day we can't figure this guys Vocabulary his lyrics are just sick way ahead of his time...DMC is the Best rapper of the group Run had more mainstream appeal..he rip it on Rock Box..
the drums are also harder in Hollis crew.Jay was skratching the intro of Sucker Mcs in Hollis crew as well,the bass and snare drums are NOT the same-listen more carefully.
the pattern is not exactly the same,VERY similar but slower,I used to think so too but listen closely, it is NOT the same. Get both 12 inches,"Hollis Crew " and "Sucker MCs". Beatmatch them and you will hear the difference. There is also a longer delay in the reverb in Hollis Crew. See for yourself.
Yeah you are right. Its slower. When Run comes in for the last verse its sounds the same. JMJ/Sucker MCs and Hollis Crew beside that Billy Squire Big Beat on Here We Go are the hardest ones out there...

@FBMorse
This is the older version, "Here We Go" was like a remix that came out later.
nilhav 5 months ago
@nilhav Really? That version sounds lower quality, and just over all older.

probably run dmc's hardest beat ever recorded next to "here we go" play this on a killer sound system-even harder than "Jam Master Jay"
real hard core hip hop just turntables and drums -no faggot keyboards or any otherinstruments just stripped down raw.
willpowa7 2 years ago 4
the drums are the same in sucker mcs....
its based on the old song Action by Orange Krush and Treacherous 3 who remade it

Back in the day I would mix in Kurtis Blow's "AJ Scratch" after this.
I would blend it in right after the final lyrics "if you don't this time we shall return !!!"
