No. The software (operating system) on the phones is different. Also the hardware is different. It will not work.

I have checked, and it will not work. Zibri has not updated his application to handle the latest versions of the iPhone OS. Until he does, you'll have to use another alternative.

No. You can unlock it without another sim card. To use it as a phone with another retailer you do need another sim card. But you can insert it after you have cracked it

Hi nice video, quick question. I'm selling my IPod touch to get an IPhone, will this work with the brand new firmware. I would assume it will be the newest one when I purchase one in the next couple of days. Also when you complete this setup what firmware version will it have?

I have unlocked two phones, both with the newest bootloader (4.6) and the newest firmware (1.1.4). ZiPhone will downgrade the bootloader to 3.6 - it should not have anything to say as far as functionality goes. It will retain whatever firmware you have on it at the time you crack it. So, if you don't downgrade it will have the newest one. (1.1.4 at this time)

It should. I have not been able to test it as I do not have access to an iPod Touch. A jailbreak should work. Obviously, unlocking will not work, as that is only for the phone. But the jailbreak should work. Again, I have not tried it though.

Excerpt from Apple's warranty:

(e) to a product or part that has been modified to alter functionality or capability without the written permission of Apple;

So yes. It can be seen as voiding the warranty.

You can use the Refurbish option in Ziphone to unjailbreak it.

The risks are there, but they are truly minimal.
