  • my old mapex pedal did that. pissed me off. alot. sucks dude.

  • i got the same problem and its really frustrating sometimes.Need help TOO

  • too tight man, loosten that bitch up!

  • My pedal does this and I can play normally, so I just don't care!!!

  • i had a similar problem with my tama double pedal. instead of tightening the slave spring i had to loosen it (more than you'd think) and now both pedals are almost identical as far as rebound. also you may have some gunk on your slave bearings or simply a lack of lube. try taking them out and spinning them. they should go pretty smoothly. if not, they should be cleaned and re lubed

  • @millmaxy i have a network double kicker that does the same thing. im gonna give this a shot. thanks :)

  • lube up the pedals (bearings etc). also check all the adjustions

  • try checiking your bearings

  • some nuts must be very tight..check it out loosen them first dude but one by one ...

  • loosen the springs til the nuts fall off then match them turn for turn (I only do a half a turn at a time) for the exact same tension. Push the pedals all the way to the pad and release to check if they have the same tension. tightening springs will make it have a longer back and forth effect. Just trial and error man. Also you should of just saved another $300 and got Axis longboards imo.

  • @EatingRottenFetuses yes loosen the spring but axis are shit in my opinion i feel eliminator is the best pedal

  • Is it possible to put a z-link on my eliminators?

  • @JFARRELLinc i hadn't thought of that :O good idea i dont think there would be a problem :O u mean the z link as in demondrives right?

  • @danieljordison0793 Yeah, I'm probably going to do it when I have the money :D

  • I have the exact same proble, tried lubing everything, adjusted the spring tension identically, as well as the beater angle. My slave pedal bounces back 4 times, and my main pedal bounces 15 times.... there is deffinately something wrong, but it doesn't affect my playing too much but it is disappointing.

  • dude i have the same pedal. theres nothing wrong with it if you use it for playing, not finger stretches lol

  • Alot of u are fucking idiots. I have the same pedal. Adjusting spring tension doesnt help. I think it's just because it's the slave and has more lag

  • your springs mate loosen them up if that doesnt help its you cad change it or your spring attachment is fucked :L

  • whats the problem?

  • people are so smart around these days. Everyone keep saying it's not a finger pedal. That dude knows that too. It's obvious that he detected problem while he was practicing, and he's showing the problem now. Its probably because of the springs or the shaft.

  • more like 'problem with my mouth'

  • due this is normal almost every pedal that i ve played with does that

  • two words : string attachment

  • Try to adjust the springs... and i know you also know it's a foot pedal... not a finger pedal...:D it's a matter of comfortably..:D

  • Dude i dont get it if its about the position it just needs to be tighed more thats all....

  • yeah that hapens to me, but how do you fixx that?

  • try to higher the spring tension, then set your bass pedal again and see what happens

  • do you really think this is going to affect your drumming becacause its not going to

i have the same pedal and that doesnt happen to mine!

    go read the settings book

  • this isnt the pedal's problem, its more your settings' problem

adjust the spring tension - this will change the problem of one taking shorter to return to its original position than the otehr

then adjust your beater angle - this will fix the problem of the original position being different for each beater.

  • Just play around with spring tension, foot board adjustment and beater angle, I have an eliminator and I have no problems, one of the best pedals on the market, so no need to buy a demon drive

  • yeah i you need new pedal....demon drive 3002d will do fine.

  • @mmiikkeesstteeeellee

    who needs a new pedal?

  • @brraatt ANYONE WITHOUT A PEARL DEMON DRIVE

  • wow its called adusting your spring tension dumb fuck! you spend so much money on the 2002's and you dont know fuck all about spring tension? cool.

  • dude its the spring tension

  • its the angel of your other pedal that or the spring tension

  • adjust the spring tension

    duh

  • what's the problem? does the pedal cause you not to talk?

  • Ya man methane is right that normal and if u don't like it adjust the pedal I mean its common sense

  • if you read comments then ull get your answer here

i have a p122 tw and it has the same problem

there is a small Allen wrench bolt side to you pedal on the main body

    make that tight

my problem was solved but my frnds

    had this same.

but the cause was that the pedal were old so.

the joint of the spring tension that connected the main beater rods. were pissed to hell see if they were not old

they 1st sol. will definatly help

  • ho lo stesso problema.. questo problema non si può risolvere... se vuoi regolare i pedali come vuoi devi comprare due casse e dividere in pedali in due singoli... così risolverai il problema...

  • lube?

    aways good..........

  • @lucasathus

What he said. Pedals are mostly made out of metal, and, believe it or not ( :P ), they have moving parts. It's a good idea to oil those parts. If that doesn't work, try using some WD40 (only if there's rust)

  • @Runjakovich

y are u telling me this?

  • @lucasathus

Oh, sorry about that. I just wanted to quote your post that lube is good. And then it wasn't directed to you, but to the people. "Why using lube is good" (other than anal sex)

  • that's normal u dumb fuck

  • Grease it....

  • How is this a problem??????? The left spring has a lot more moving parts then the right so, DUH, they will never be the same. Common sense says adjust it until it is as close as you can get it. Why the hell would two seperate things move exactly the same???????????? RECAP : Adjust the springs.

  • I have this problem too... But I have mapex double pedals

  • buy another pedal=))))))

  • lube it upppppppppppp

  • easy fix your left pedal is looser than your right

  • its the left side of the drive shaft, take it out of the pedal, and put it back in and tighten it real good, also lube your bearings with skate board grease. i did this on mine and it fixed it

  • dude, u are retarded...

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that sucks bro sorry...

  • i have the same pedals my left one squizes and also i have the same problem with you and its not too toghten but i own the only for aweek

    if somebody knows please answer

  • Typical problem...

  • spring to tighten ?

  • it's not a strange problem... they are simply used it's a normal thing, .. i have it too, just take it in a music center and they help you with a oil or better with a spray ( sorry for the english)

  • Adjusting is all ya need.. I have so many people call me at Guitar Center and ask how to fix it and then once one of us shows them they love the pedal. It's a sweet pedal, but i love my 9000's.

  • grease em up man. do not use wd 40

  • bro adjust them and they'll be fine every chain does this u just gotta have the patience to fix them

  • my pearl p902 had the exact same problem, a little 3 in 1 oil in the bearings should help a little.

  • eliminators are not like that. maybe that's something on the adjustment.

  • I have the same problem with my Pearl P122TW

  • it looks like a problem in the rebound to sort that you just need to tighten the screws on the master pedal

  • Where did you get that practice pad? Is that from an electric kit? (Joe from Billdidit)

  • @jmenchefski Yes it is, it's from a Yamaha DTXPLORER

  • Might have to loosen the tension on your left side there...

  • you have to tight the bolt on left pedal

  • YOU are a problem, not your pedal

  • use grease or clean pedal U__U PS look the spring

  • FAKE AND GAY!!!!

  • @jeanchristian12345 lol dude he just has one bolt to tight

  • My pedals do that too cept I dont have elims

  • use skate board bearing speed cream lol speed cream haha thats a funny word cream lolz seriosly use bones swiss speed cream

  • I have a set of the same eliminators on my practice kit, and they just didn't last. The locking lugs snapped off, and I had to modify the existing fasteners for the telescopic rod in my machine shop. Junk. I use the DW 9000 series double pedal setup on the pro kit on stage. Absolutely no comparison!

  • OMG UR LIFE MIGHT END BECAUSE OF THIS

  • same thing happens with my crap pedal. best thing to do is get them lubricated i guess?

guitar center or the local xxx shop lol

  • you need to lube the bearings in the slave pedal and basically everything on the pedal where there is a moving part.

  • try to use tama iron cobra

  • LOOB DAT SHIT UP

  • Are you sure you have tightened the screw?

  • its broke!!!!!

  • did anyone else find this video really scary?

  • give your spring a bit more tension all bass pedals do this.

  • you could adjust the spring tension on the slave beater...

  • BUT WAT ABOUT POSITION 3!!!!

  • Try playing with your feet rather then your fingers it works better.

  • @Stubui he's demonstrating that one is smoother than the other, you can demonstrate that by blasting at both of them with your feet.

  • GIVE THEM TO ME :)

I would just clean the bearings and they would be normal and you would have just lost a few hundred dollars worth of equipment.

  • yea mine do that too it fucks me up especialy when i try and go fast

  • try greasing the right bearing.... or replace it

  • I only use double bass pedals when I'm recording or something useful.

That's the main reason y use 2 bass drums at the same time

  • Adjust it. But when you play it does not matter anyway

  • Does the belt ones have this same problem?

  • i think you just need to learn how to adjust a pedal....

  • dude you can edjust them my crappy double bass pedal does the same thing i ejusted them and there fine just tighten it

  • Lube your bearings, align the driveshaft to the master side, check your tension.

  • holy shit how u fix that my pedal dos the same fuck!!

  • @francky101 there is a spray called "WD-40" is a lubricator for just about any metal it will loosen things for your pedal

  • You need to not have them the same tightness

  • wow... thats a rip

  • that happens with any double pedal the slave pedal arm connecting them have less flexibility. theres nothing wrong with your pedal its just a down size to not haveing 2 bass drums

  • on the dw 7000 the beater on the slave pedal is loose but you learn to get used to it...

  • my cheap pdp pedals did that for a while, i put some metal lube on the turn rods and it fixed that problem. :)

  • shit loads of WD40 then it will be loose

  • you bearings are shot

  • Does that even make a difference when you are playing them?

  • i'll take em=]

  • haha thats what my iron cobra jrs. looked like until i cleaned the bearing up

  • adjust the spring and try to manage the ancle of the slave pedal better

  • adjust the tension spring on the main pedal to match it...

  • Mabey if you set your springs to the same amount of tension that wouldn't happen, just a thought, dumbass

  • HAHAH i have them cheap pdp's that do the same thing

  • oil is the answer.

  • Try your left spring a little bit looser... that spring is doing too much torque on the left bolt. Try it and tell me what happened...

  • you have a ghost in your house

  • did you play the left side well? bearings need about 40km until they really do their job - i simply took my drilling machine, fixed it at the point where the kardan takes lace and drilled it about 5 minutes (of course, you have to remove the beater and so on...) if that doesnt help -> send it to pearl??

  • adjust the tension in the spring on the slave pedal side until it matches the other pedal as closely as possible

  • WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • your a douch

  • try new springs or pedal lube

  • i got the same pedals, send em back, sell em, or live with em, if i could make a suggestion, i would personally sell it and get the eliminators, or the demons, personally i like the eliminators and don't like the demons. Try both out, and find a preference. but it will defiantly change the way you play.

  • put some PTFE / teflon lube in the bearing races. Not WD 40! Watch my vids. Also make sure the angle of the UJ isnt so much it chokes the twisting motion.

  • i have the same fucking proble with my double pedal but its not a pearl eliminator ... i think its a problem with the springs ..

  • It doesn't matter how your pedals oscillate, or how the slave does compared to the master. As long as they're getting a good strong bounce off of the drum head, they should be right under your feet ready for that next kick. The only reason it's like that is because the master pedal has the system right close nearby where motion transfers easier. The slave is put on a separate shaft, with the pedal separated from the beater by a driveshaft. It won't affect your playing hardly any.

  • a few years ago I got the janus pedal made by mapex, I did not have money to buy a better one, and that pedal has the same problem, does anybody knows how to fix it?

  • i had the same problem with mine. and i sat down and took a good look and y tweaked everything i could and the problem was a very small screw that is tightened with a very thin allen wrench that was loose. i tightened it and the problem was completely gone :D this screw is right at the point were the driveshaft connects with the main pedal. i was about to get rid of my brand new pedal out of the box but it was just that small detail ;)

  • are you an idiot? grease it or tighten the left side. [lube]

  • either your barring in the left side is less on greese so thats why it doesnt rebound as good

  • its your spring settings

  • i had the same problem with my old big dog pedal. I ended up covering the thing in lube, which made it better but dident fix it.

  • adjust the coil

  • i have the same problem :( I wanna buy the news Yamaha DFP9500D direct drive. (watch?v=H-fVXATobV4) .

  • the screws that are holding your beater on are probably lose

  • the screws are lose

  • No shit Sherlock Downy Jr. All double base pedals have a more resistant left beater, it's in the engineering. Get another bass drum if you can't stop crying over it.

  • Oh well, its a better workout for my weaker left foot anyway.

  • Dude I have the same exact pedals and they do the same thing I actually sent them back there nice but they feel a little to heavy for me

  • Does This Happen to all eliminators??? i have a pearl p902 for more than 6 months and doesnt have this problem

  • mine does that but it is Pearl Powershifter P122TW anyone know a resolve

  • pedals crap

  • half the time, people don't realize that bending the u-joints causes extra resistance to less expensive pedals. only a few reduce this effect, but all are subject to it. most likely, that is what's going on here combined with some wear.

  • What the fuck is wrong with yours? mine doesnt do that and i bought my shit used

  • Comment removed

  • how did u fix it?

  • SAME PROBLEM TO MINE

  • if you dont like em you can send em to me :D

  • i had those, and had the same problem.

  • I have the same pedal and same problem. Have yet to figure out a solution, and now they want more than $600 for a double-pedal that was built correctly the first time. SUCK!

  • у тебя брак либо какой то винт не закручен до конца

  • did you try evening out the main shaft? then set the spring tension and like bounce the pedal with your finger while setting the tension.

  • Ok, Ive tried everything and I'm convinced it's because the slave pedal spring is smaller - or some of these pedals are just f'd up. I had an older powershifter from '99 that had an allen screw above each bearing and by loosening them all a bit you could get both sides almost exact.

  • I have a brand new one that does the exact same thing. I tried greasing the far left bearing and lock washer and no change. It also does it with the drive link unattached. The only thing that makes a little difference is loosening the allen screw above right of the left spring.

  • I'm facing the same problem.. Would anyone please help me? Cos I didn't really understand what the other comments were saying. I seriously need baby step instructions on how to fix this problem. I'm currently using a Gibraltar Avenger double pedal. Thanks! =)

  • Don't play in the desert.... you have SAND in your bearings!

    ;-)

  • [Part 1] For everyone having this problem: The largest contribution to the friction of the slave pedal (besides the added weight which cannot be compensated for) is at the leftmost bearing. If you notice this bearing is secured by a hexnut and a lock washer to the axel. As the axel turns so does this washer and it will rub against the bearing. After time, or if not lubed initially, the lock washer will become dry and the friction will increase.

  • [Part 2] Solution: remove the hexnut and lock washer and apply a small amount of GREASE to the side of the washer which contacts the bearing. If needed by a new bearing, they are standard 806 size skateboard bearings and are dirt cheap. All you should have to do though is apply some grease to this washer. Take a look and you'll see what I'm talking about.

  • [Part 3] Don't believe me? If you remove the chain from the cam and remove the hexnut and lock washer then give the cam a good spin it should zip around and around. If you then replace the hexnut (with the chain still detached) you notic a SIGNIFAGANT increase in friction.

  • i hear what you're saying, and assume you mean the far left hexnut of the slave pedal? How do you explain the fact he took the drive link off and still had the same problem? Do the other bearings need greasing aswell?

  • yeah lol iron cobras dont have that problem lol

  • (part 1) Ive had the pearl elims for several months now and finally just got them perfect. They used to have that exact problem, and Ive seen this vid a few months ago while trying to find a solution on the net so decided to come post on here to see if I can help anyone out with this. Initially i got it closer in rebound by messing with the spring tension, so the left beater would lag behind and then stop before the right one, but not as bad.

  • (part 2) It was bearable and then just ran it for a couple months.. but now that ive finally dial'd in the spring tension (i used to run them as tight as possible but now i find i prefer something around the middle, i also use the blue cams) distance apart and having the footboards at a parallel angel (wich i think really helped in my case anyways, i used to run the left foot board a bit toe out)

  • (part 3) they work perfectly, very satisfied. Not thinking of switching to different pedals like the cobras. I hope this helps you guys to get your elims running smooth. So get the spring where its comfortable and even for your left and right leg to hit the drum with the same amount of force, (or w.e is comfortable, thats just what i did) the distance between the footboards (btw the shaft that allows for the distance adjustment, i run the left foot boards adjustment shaft all the way in

  • (part 4) and the distance adjustment coming from the right side out a bit to put the left food board where i want it) and have the footboards parallel and the shaft is perfectly straight with the left footboard, i run my left pedal a little closer then the right one but no more toe out or anything, left board 90 degree with the shaft.. parallel pedals (you can move the left pedal just keep it a 90 degree with the shaft and the same angle with the other footboard

  • (part 5) and you should be golden.. since its allowing a more free movement. Anyways again, hope this helps. Good drumming =]

  • Its the cennoction between the slave pedal and the main.

  • Yeah, i had pedals that did that, try tightening the screws and play with the spring

  • Buy a new string. My sonor pedal does that too :P

  • I guess I'm lucky..mine do not do that.

  • my cousins does that, its not peal but, i screwed with it for ages n cant fix it, put you soo outta time

  • nice drum kit.
