I recently bought an the "ultra" Black ISO flat iron from the Fashion District in Los Angeles. I quickly examined its quality when I hopped into my car, and it was pretty good.

The sunshine girl has 1.25 in. solid ceramic plates, w/temp control The iron itself weighs 10oz. The Turbo irons are 1 in. and they have tourmaline added to the ceramic plates to create more neg ions. It weighs 8 oz. However, the turbo series do not have a temp control but they can be used on 110 V,or 220 V (which comes in handy if you travel). I recommend the turbo series, for hard to manage hair! If you have very fine hair, I recommend the sunshine girl irons, because of the temp control

Make sure that the temp. is set high enough, and that you rotate the iron 360 degrees before you pull it through. Go slow, and make sure that you have a firm grip, but not to tight as you slide the IRon through. I hope this helps!

No, but you do need an iron that is 1.5 inches or less. It needs to get pretty hot(an iron with 100% ceramic plates is best so that your hair is protected from the high heat!).

And floating plates help you get a smoother curl :)

Yes, it works great, but it does not have a temp. control, so be sure that your hair is able to handle the high temp!

Yes, the higher heat will give you a better curl, and it makes it last longer I set mine around 400 Degress. Try a high setting, but if you get alot of steam, just turn it down a little bit. If you get no steam you might be able to turn the temp. up more. That is how I adjust my heat setting! I hope this helps :)

Is that degrees fahrenheit? [sorry I can't spell that!] But I'm Irish and our straighteners only go up to 250 degrees celsius, and even at that it doesn't really straighten/curl my hair properly...

Buyers beware!!!

I bought this stuff, a whole set of it. Theese device do not have a heat regulator. They overheat and burn your hair. When they display them in the mall they use timers on power supply so that it does not overheat. When you bring it home its a totaly different story. Be carefull with the curlers as well. The tip is unprotected and heats up along with the whole thing. Extremely hot. I got burned.

The ISO Ultra and ISO Sunshine girl Irons that I sell DO have temp. control, and they are great irons!

Maybe you bought a Turbo or tourmaline iron(they get much hotter)?

And yes, any buyer should "beware"/look into the product that they are buying( compare, ask questions, get all of the info that they can)

I do not sell them in the mall, just online.

I absolutely love my ISO, that is why I started selling them!! I am sorry for your negative experience!

When you curl the right side , if you are pointing the open side of the Iron toward your mirror, try pointing the Iron toward the back of your hair when curling the left side(that is if you are right handed) I hope that wasn't too confussing :) Let me know if this helps!

I just got this iron for Christmas and I love it! I have straight hair too but I use it to get all the frizz out! I love my hair now that I have this and I have never been very pleased with my hair. This video really helped me master the curl.
