I actually find it strange how in the English version, Sven and his brother were the same person. Of course all that was to make us think that Sven was still alive, bringing tears of relief to our hearts. Sadly, that's not what really happened. As we all know, Sven dies and is later replaced by his brother, who also meets with an untimely death.

Luckily for Sho, the one who replaces Takashi Shirogane later on, he dies an honorable death as he fought bravely until the end. Personally I prefer full episodes rather than mini episodes. I mean sure, when translated to English, the show is not in its pure unedited form. But These mini episodes have way too much editing and due to the lack of plot development we have no idea what the hell is going on.

No. This was one of many shows with robotic combiners way back when. Power Rangers was stemed from the Sentai franchise overseas in Japan. Granted the characters in Voltron have unique colors its technically not sentai because its not live action like Power Rangers is.

Actually, Power Rangers was before Voltron. The Japanese were making their version of Power Rangers in the 70s. The US Rangers are just Japanese with English dubbing.

Actually, in the original Japanese version, Sven (as we known him in US/Canada) died. His brother was the one who was on Planet Doom, helping the other princess (Allura's cousin) escape. You're corrct, Sven's brother died when he kileld Lotor and fell into the lake!!

Also, FYI: Lotor was kille din the Japan version. He fell along with Sven's brotehr in the water. King Zarkon was also killed in the Japan version. He piloted a Robeast that looked like him. Do a search round here and you should be able to see the original Japanese Zarkon death.

Yeah. It's a real shame that Sven actually dies in the true unedited Japanese version. Nevertheless, that's what really happened. It's also a shame that his twin brother (Sho) dies as well. In his battle with Lotor, they both fell to their deaths. Tragic, but he died an honorable death. Whereas Sven (Takashi Shirogane) died in vain. It's funny how the translators combined the two characters together to make it seem like Sven was still alive.
